Just an idea at the moment, whether people are interested to have short story monthly reading? (or maybe every 2 months?) :)

Book monthly reading is far too much, but short story would be relatively easy to tackle! And since short stories came up a couple of times in the other discussion topics, I thought maybe we could move it here.

It would be nice to pick short stories that are available online as a rule of thumb I think, so it's easier to obtain, and anybody can join immediately.

Just to get the ball started, we've mentioned:

Lust, Caution by Eileen Chang
(not sure if available online)

Tony Takitani by Haruki Murakami

And a few authors available at the New Yorker:

Lots of stories by Yiyun Li

2 stories by Yoko Ogawa
http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/bio...
(been meaning to read Pregnancy Diary)

One short story by Mo Yan:

And while we're in the subject of short stories, I'd like to mention short story collection The Boat by Nam Le, that received high praises when it was out in Australia. (haven't read it though)

Anyone else has recommendations?

Great suggestion, Di! I'm open to any of these. Let's wait for others to reply.
