I had to plan it out to get them off my to-read lists :) Assuming that I like the first ones and don't choose to read something else.
My approach was similar - to get all the books that I own and are earmarked for one challenge or other onto my list first.
I have Crossed for C too, AmyK - I'm assuming you've read Matched?I liked both of Cronin's books, but they are wrist-breakers!
I have matched in my first round by author, crossed and reached on the second by title.Luckily I have the Cronin books on my nook, so It won't be so heavy

I'm having a B book crisis. Having a hard time getting into the one on my list.....then I thought, well heck I have one I started for the jewelery challenge and I only read like 2 chapters so I'll go to it....THAT didn't work so now I have 3 more books on my reader to try and start. Hopefully one will stick!!
Hmm looking at my read books you could try The Secret Garden or Captain Corelli's Mandolin. Or one of my favourite authors Bill Bryson (benefit to him is he has books on just about everything!) and laugh your way through B.
Or you could give YLTO's darling Geraldine Brooks a go. I loved her non-fiction book Nine Parts of Desire: The Hidden World of Islamic Women and it was easy to read.
Agree with Rusalka's recommendation of Bill Bryon. Sometimes he makes me giggle like a loon.
Or try Alan Bennett. He writes observational pieces, which manage to terribly poignant while still making you giggle. His series "talking heads" are monologues that were filmed and were marvelous.

I have a friend called Dave, who introduced me to Bill Bryson. We went away on holidays with a whole heap of people, and he was sitting on the couch reading one of Bryson's books. Dave just started giggling and giggling to himself and the book, then laughing so incredibly hard, until he stopped making noises as he couldn't breathe, and was just uncontrollably shaking from laughter. Just sitting on a couch jiggling with tears streaming down his face.
We had to take the book off him as we thought he was going to die from hyperventilation. Once he finally stopped laughing and was able to form words (which took about 5-10 mins), we got in trouble for taking the book away. He got the nickname "Jiggily Dave" and I knew I had to read this guy.

I actually have several books by Bill Bryson. If the one I started doesn't keep my attention today, I think I will go hunt them down. Thanks for all the suggestions though. Some times i get in this crazy "mood" reading thing and can't make one fit. It's like switching stations on the radio..liking the songs you hear, but you just aren't in the mood to listen to them.
I swear it's just overload from having to many choices.
Amy, I am a very moody reader. I know what you are going through! I had a very difficult October! Then, I had to back way off of reading for 2 months due to packing, moving, etc. Now I feel much better! Maybe I needed the break? I don't know. BUT, it can be a very FRUSTRATING experience!
You guys are killing me with the great suggestions. Now I've added ANOTHER author to my TBR: Bill Bryson!
I agree! I used the fruit machine to see which audiobook I should spend my credit on the other day. I kept spinning it because I didn't like what it chose.
They are better now. They were sick for 6 days, then both of them were REALLY cranky and moody for almost a week after as well. My mom commented today when Ryan(the 3 year old) was laughing that it has been like 2 weeks since she has really heard him laugh. Getting back to normal around here and now I'm playing catch up with all the threads.
Sick kids are no fun. We had the stomach flu go through the family over the Christmas holidays and from the Saturday before Christmas until New Year's day we had someone in the family either sick or recovering.
Well, the reading i was supposed to do in March didn't work out so well, Hopefully I can get caught up on my ABCs in April :)
No kidding, I finished my "I" book on Feb 9th and still haven't gotten to my "J" book. Too many other books jumped in the way. Maybe it will get picked for the toppler.
Janice and Cherie: But your book will still be there waiting patiently for you when you are ready. : )AmyK: You are really doing so well with your challenge; it is difficult to believe you do all this and have young children at home, too! You are supermom! ; )
Made it through one alphabet, with a valiant attempt at the second. Think I'm going to hang it up after I finish F and G.
