I'm new to Goodreads and these groups. How do the challenges work and where do I sign up? Please excuse my ignorance...I'm a bit of a technodolt (but learning!). Thanks.
Hi, Jamie!Every group's challenges are different, so I can only speak to the challenges in this group.
If you go back and read the first post, you'll get the basics down. To sign up, just post "I'm IN!" or "Sign me up!" And I'll add you to the participants list.
Then you'll follow the "rules" posted. In this case, once per month you have to either read a new-to-you author or genre. You can choose from the We Love Lisa Kleypas Group list - the link is in post #1. As long as it's new to you in some way, it works.
Once you've read the book, come back here and list what you've read. The goal will be 12 reads. Post your stats this way:
4/12 or 2/12, etc. I will update those stats in the participants thread.
There are no prizes or anything like that, just a sense of accomplishment when you finish! :)

Okay, I'm in. I am trying to keep my challenges to a minimum this year, and my resolution is to read a book for fun each month. I'm in another challenge for that. I plan to get my 12 books together, and they will all be different authors or styles than I normally read.

This year you'll have a few different options to choose from, but since it's a New Year, you must challenge yourself to try something new. A new author, a new genre, a new series - if it's new to you, it works! And if you need some ideas, and a little extra challenge, choose books from our very own Lisa's Ladies' Favorite Books List!
The most challenging part will be to do one or the other, at least once per month. It's not required to participate, but it's another way to challenge yourself, if you're so inclined.
Whatever you choose to read can be long or short, it doesn't matter. It can be a journal entry, poetry... as long as it's new to you, it works for us!
Only those things you read between January 1st and December 31st qualify.
Please remember to post your updated stats where I can easily find them. The year might be new, but these peepers aren't!
