Shelves Tower (Report)
want
COMPLETED (2-AUG)
Could the reserved shelves be marked here somehow, so the rest of us don't accidentally pick one of them to read? Or maybe just a list of the reserved ones?
I only count 129. Is there one missing?
(No, I'm not quite compulsive enough to have sat here and counted them, lol. I copied the lists out to make my own notes about potential books, and it numbered 129.)

Susan, the reserved shelves will be marked off on the planning thread by me as I will be coordinating the shelves tower. Here is the link to the planning thread.

There was one shelf that I just couldn't get the link to work! It's one of those weird ones so I've just taken it out so yes, we're left with 129 instead of 130! ;p

HAHAHAHAHA! Didn't I tell you? ;) Please let me know my recovery task! :)
It was a complete miss-shot, DG. There isn't a backfire or anything like that so you haven't got to do any recovery task.
Out of the 129 shelves, only 100 are "true" blocks but some of these "true" blocks hold repercussions...

I have a question. There are shelves being reported here that were not reserved. Is that an issue?
Lyn M wrote: "I have a question. There are shelves being reported here that were not reserved. Is that an issue?"
not at all... they don't have to reserve shelves, it's only part of planning so they don't double up but if shelves aren't reserved by anyone, they can claim it anytime. You may want to cross it off the planning thread though. I'd try to check the planning thread to see who's reserved what so we're not treading on anyone's toes ;p

No worries. I have been checking myself and so far so good. I figured it wasn't as issue, but thought that I would ask just to be sure. :)

Well, if it had to happen, I'm glad it was this one. I have lots of books on my TBR from Australia and from the UK.
But ... let me be sure I understand. The recovery book I choose doesn't get to apply to any of the towers, right? So I shouldn't pick one I was counting on using for a particular tower?

Yes, you can't use your recovery book to "shoot".

Done. I read The Housekeeper and the Professor, which is set in Japan. It's a cute little book, though nothing terrific. So I'm fully recovered, except that I've now caught a cold. I can go on to read something else as soon as I'm done wanting to sleep all the time. :)
Oh, and the book has also been published as "The Professor and his Beloved Equation" -- if anyone needs that later for a recovery task.

I believe you may have manifested an inclination towards 'second-sight', DG! Should've listened to it though! A bit of a silly accident, actually, you've sprained an ankle! LOL ;)

This skirmish translated itself to my real life. No only did I fell in the street today but I broke my iPad in the process (for real.) :'(

Oh, no! Are you okay?
Is your iPad completely ruined?

The iPad is not ruined and it seems to work fine. But the screen broke in a corner (full of shards) and it has several hairline fractures. I should be able to use it with a screen protector if the screen doesn't get worse. My husband is all for getting me a new one but I'll keep this one until I can't use it anymore. (I'm the type of person who likes to be reminded of her mistakes. That'll teach me to be careful!)

So sorry to hear that you fell, D.G., but glad you are all right. My husband broke the screen on his iPhone and was able to use it for 6 months before it completely gave out. Me.....I would be taking him up on his offer of a new one. :)

A couple of those hairline fractures extend all the way to the top but that doesn't affect what I do with it (reading, checking email, watching movies )etc. I'm more concerned about the corner with all those shards underneath the screen protector. This morning I felt something sharp (it didn't hurt me) but it may come through. I think I'll have to duct tape it!

There will be a list of 129 shelves (taken from the first page of Top Shelves) of which 100 will have been randomly selected to be the “blocks” of this Tower. You will not, however, know which shelf is a block and which is not. Therefore, some of the cannons you threw will be off the mark.
There is no limitation to page numbers / editions as long as the book is shelved under the correct shelf name (ie. exact spelling of shelf).
Please only post your completed reads
