Don't you think you just gave a little too much info for the people who haven't read the book?

Is this the book where the mother cuts a rope hanging in a cave and thereby eliminates any possibility of her daughter's escape?

To answer the question. No I didn't suspect the shocking ending. But with Saul you don't know what is going to happen that is way he is one off my favorite authors. It is a pity his books don't come in Dutch anymore.
