Thank you for sending this message out today. Now I have my free copy of Les Miserables and will start it when I finish Proof of Heaven. I also purchased War and Peace which I have wanted to read since I read Anna K., many years ago when it was an Oprah Book Club Book.
Those links are dead. Here's one from kindle that works (for now) http://www.amazon.com/Les-Mis%C3%A9ra...

That could well be a plus in such a lengthy novel. :-) I don't read revised or abridged versions so thought you might want to know.

"FREE EBOOK
LES MISERABLES (classic literature)
by Victor Hugo
Sure, you've seen the movie, but have you read the original book to get all that delicious, behind-the-scenes detail that's so hard to capture on the big screen? Hugo's classic tale is set against the backdrop of political upheaval in 19th-century France and retains its timeless appeal of the struggles of former convict Jean Valjean to emerge from desperate circumstances while being pursued by the duty-obsessed Inspector Javert.
