Project 10 Book 2013 discussion

For those who don't know what Project 10 Book is the rules are simple, you need to read 10 books from your bookshelf before you can buy another one.
You can change it to whatever suits you best, make it 5 books instead of 10. Or perhaps make it all E-Books instead of paperbacks. It's totally up to you!

I snuck a wee cheeky purchase just now before it starts lol.

I'm hoping to finish my current read before the 1st now. Otherwise I'll be cheating and going I finished in 2013 so it counts right? LOL

haha totally Kay! I don't think I'll be finished Dreamfever before the 1st. working all day tomorrow then going to a party, so I'm totally counting that as my first book when I finish it!

Well I've just finished a beta so I'm hoping tonight and tomorrow I'll get Iced finished. I only have 250 pages left I think. It's quite a massive book.

I've got about a hundred books waiting on my Kindle, so maybe I should set my reading goal a bit higher? Great way to motivate reading. Thanks for inviting me.

I'll definitely take part. I have just over a 100 books to get through so hopefully it will stop me from buying more lol :D

I better read in a hurry then cos I have my eye on some newbies! Nice idea though. Current Kindle has 473 books on it, lets see how many I can add to Project 10.

I have a lot of books prob 200+ between my nook and my kindle app that are not in my Goodreads list.. I usually add them as i read them.. would that be violating the rules, do you think??

i have over 1,000 kindle books. how do we get on this? sorry i can read 10 books. school starts back next week!

In joined, but now think I can't do this. I see people say they wont do review books, as its cheating, well, that counts me out, as 99% of what I read is review books, so would be impossible for me to do without those. The review books are mostly for tours, and I only join ones I actually really want to read, and would probably buy at some point anyway.
Let me know if I can do this with my tour/review books, if Not, tell me how to leave the group, not sure how, lol. thanks. (i do buy books too, like next in series, many review books, I end up buying the rest in series when I can, and of course I have my fav series that are not review books just not enough for this, I do not have 10 non review books on my shelf/virtual shelf)

michelle you CAN do it with review books. I think most of us are just not counting them so we get our TBR list down. At least that's what I am doing.

Ok, great, well most of my TBR list IS review books, as I said, I only do ones I would read anyway. They would have been on my shelf ANYWAY, so might as well count them I think. :)

I'm sure I have at least ten on my bookshelf to read, 3 of which I bought over the Christmas break in a lapse of strength haha!

Is this cheating??

I'm in the process of getting rid of my favourite books in paperback and replacing them with their hardback versions. Now if I do this during project 10, would I still need to read 10 books before I buy the hardback or would it not count since I've already read the book in paperback and I'm only replacing?

So I'm kinda changing my personal rules for this. I wasn't going to include review books but while I'm not buying books my review books are still my tbr that I really want to read and if I don't include them then I don't think I'll ever get to 10. While I'm at uni and reading slowly I'm planning on catching up on review books mainly so I am going to include them. Sorry guys if you think this is cheating.
