My name is Robyn Bavati and I'm the author of Dancing in the Dark, first published in Australia in 2010, but debuting shortly in North America - Feb 8th, to be exact. I'm counting the days! Dancing in the Dark is the story of Ditty Cohen, a girl raised in an ultra-orthodox Jewish home, who longs to dance. When her strictly religious parents forbid it, Ditty starts to dance in secret, and is soon caught up in a web of deception. Ultimately, she must choose between her family and a career as a dancer.
Goodreads Giveaways - 5 copies of the US edition of Dancing in the Dark are now up for grabs!
So glad you think so, Chelsea. The book is also available, though not as a giveaway, in Australia and New Zealand, and through many stores online. For any members who do live in North America, here is the link to the giveaway:

**Free Kindle YA Book for honest review**I'm looking for *honest* assessments and will send an Amazon gift certificate for a download to the first 50 people who ask. No pressure -- and it doesn't even have to be a long review. Just post it here and on Amazon.
The book is time-travel, so it's a bit sci-fi and a bit historical fiction. Just message me here on Goodreads if you're interested.

Awesome opportunity. I came across this group because when I drafted my Y/A series, I wanted a heroine who was the story. I love that there are like minded peeps out there that love our heroines strong, but also love hot guys in there, too. ;-)I am willing to give away copies of Goddess Legacy to anyone who'll leave HONEST reviews here and on Amazon. I don't want fluff. If you love it, great. If you hate it, great. Doesn't have to be long... just honest. Also, my assistant is currently setting up a blog tour for mid April - May, and I'll have a contest where entrants who leave reviews will earn more points... so you'll be ahead of the game. ;-) You can message me via goodreads or email me at m@mwmuse.com and let me know if you'd prefer pdf or .mobi (Kindle).
About the book:
Legacy Kore is an average seventeen year old with your basic insane crush on the hottest guy in school... rather Adin Shepard was the hottest guy in school before he graduated a couple of weeks ago. Now it’s summer vacation and she’s not sure when she’ll get to see him again. Until he shows up at her surprise seventeenth birthday party. Cue saliva glands--it’s time to drool.
But her giddiness is cut short when her guardian delivers an emotional blow, telling Legacy her mother hadn’t died when she was baby, but that she’d left for Legacy’s protection all those years ago. After the initial shock, she expects some story about how her mother was in the Witness Protection Program or something else just as crazy, but when she’s told that her mother is a Greek Goddess and that Legacy is changing into one too, she thinks her guardian needs a trip to a mental hospital. Legacy a goddess? Um, yeah. Right. And her BFF is the Easter Bunny.
While trying to make sense out of something that was impossible to believe, Adin asks Legacy out on a date. She is thrilled that her fantasy might become a reality, but when she meets the new guy in town, River, she discovers everything isn’t always as it seems, and the legacy she wants just might not be the legacy she is destined to have.
Goddess Legacy
Hi, I would like to introduce my debut book, Redemption, now available on Amazon. It is a YA paranormal romance. The official description is below:Shayne
“I was just a normal guy from a normal family planted right dead smack in the middle of Normal Town, U.S.A.”
Shayne Naughton’s world has been turned upside down. His family and friends are acting weird. Strange men are following him or calling his cellphone in the middle of class. A magical purple-haired new kid is doing strange things to his classmates. And a gorgeous, redhead demon is out for his blood, thinking it is the key to unleashing her demon husband from Hell. He used to be just a normal guy until she showed up at his school and changed his world.
Fallyn
“As I fade away, in my last moments I have the tiniest bit of hope that I shall see my father's home once more. In that moment, I will know that I've been redeemed.”
Fallyn Galen has made many, grave, mistakes over her lifetime. She’s accepted her fate. All she wants to do is to make amends before her final punishment. But, then she’s sent to Redemption, Massachusetts and the soul she didn’t know she had connects with him. Now she is alive again and feeling things she’s never felt. Shayne Naughton may just be the redemption she was looking for, if only she can keep him alive long enough for him to learn to love her for exactly who, and what, she is.
Redemption is Venise Webb’s debut novel for the new Fallyn series. An epic battle is brewing between Heaven, Hell and Earth. Right there in the middle of it all is Fallyn and Shayne. Is their soul connection can be the key to protecting the world or the weapon to destroy it?

I'm running a 99¢ sale on Time's Twisted Arrow to draw attention to the fact that it's made it to the quarterfinals for the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award!! Since several readers in this group have mentioned Kate as a "kick@ss heroine," I was excited to see one of the Amazon official reviewers note: "Her time travel adventures promise to be action filled with Kate delivering on some real kick butt moments. She will no doubt make a great heroine." So, if you're looking for a well-reviewed bargain read, and you haven't already picked it up, grab a copy before 3/31.Amazon / Barnes & Noble / Kobo / Smashwords

Hi, Elizabeth! Always happy to hear from readers looking forward to Book 2!!! Here's the current schedule -- I will have a novella out this summer (most likely late June) which looks at some of the events of Time's Twisted Arrow from Kiernan's perspective and also fills in some additional information about the Cyrists and the earlier timeline. If all goes well, Book Two, Pendulum Past will be complete in December or January. I'll post a note here when these "hit the bookshelves" :) Elizabeth wrote: "Jenny wrote: "Rysa wrote: "I'm running a 99¢ sale on Time's Twisted Arrow to draw attention to the fact that it's made it to the quarterfinals for the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award!! You ladies rock! I'm going to have to add this group to my acknowledgements sections -- you definitely help to keep me encouraged and eager to get back to the writing. :) Chelsea wrote: "I hope that you go on to be a very well-known author! You certainly deserve it!"
Do any of you authors have books out that follow the following: -Have been professionally edited
-Include a designed cover
-Are properly formatted for digital consumption (ePub or Mobi file)
-Are in the commercial fiction or nonfiction categories (We are not accepting textbooks, academic papers, or technical manuals)
If so, I recommend trying to connect with Libboo.com.
Thanks, Kaitlin! This looks like an interesting program and I'm definitely going to be signing up with them once the Amazon contest is over. I suspect that will be April 16, since that's when they do the next cut and whack 95 of the 100 YA authors out of the running. Really hoping, of course, that it is *isn't* April 16, but... :)
Well, whenever it does happen, I'm looking forward to possibly seeing your book added to the site. There's not a whole lot of choices available on it right now and I'm hoping there will be more books on there that I can buzz for soon.
Anyone who wants to vote post a comment on the *excerpt* at Amazon can definitely do that now -- it's at http://amzn.to/Z9v6SS. I'm not clear how much they take downloads of the excerpts and reviews into consideration for this stage of the game, but I certainly don't see how it could hurt. Right now, the good folks at Publisher's Weekly are reading all of the books that made quarterfinals and then they choose the 25 semifinalists -- although only five of those chosen will be in the YA category. The Amazon publishers will then select the #1 for each category -- and then they'll toss it out to the readers to vote on which book gets the grand prize.
If I am lucky enough to make it to that point, I will be shouting from the mountaintops and especially here on Goodreads. I suspect even the YA Heroine members across the ocean will hear me. :)

Hi, I'm am author of a YA paranormal trilogy. The first book (Beyond the Eyes) is on sale on Amazon for .99 cents. The second book (Dark Spirits) was published a couple months ago.
Here are the links and the blurbs . . .

Beyond the Eyes:
Paige knows evil exists in this world, but she never imagined it would want something from her.
After a ghostly voice whispers a haunting message to seventeen-year-old Paige Reed, Paige’s life takes a nightmarish turn. Unwilling to tell her friends about the supernatural occurrences happening in her life, Paige feels more alone than ever–until she meets Nathan Caswell.
Nathan is not only hot, but seems to peer into Paige’s soul, evoking a magnetic energy between them that cannot be denied. But he’s no ordinary guy. He tracks dark spirits, and becomes alarmed when they set their sights on Paige.
And then there are the two power-hungry dark spirits who believe Paige can find King Solomon’s magical ring for them, because when her father was alive, he was close to finding it. If Paige doesn’t comply with their demands, they’ll kill her.
Paige is forced to dig deep into her father’s past and unearths shocking secrets about him and his bloodline. With the past and present colliding, Paige is only sure about two things in her life: she needs to outwit the dark spirits to stay alive, and she’s completely and helplessly in love with Nathan.
Dark Spirits:
Now immortal, Paige is emotionally and physically stronger than ever. She must find the location of the ancient incantations to prevent mass genocide. But the war against good and evil is spawning another war–a battle between the dark spirits themselves. Paige is saddled in the center of both growing revolutions and is ready to take on the dark forces. But Nathan’s overprotectiveness prevents her from taking action, and he’s hiding things.
Paige’s personal life gets more complicated when Brayden arrives back in town and offers the equal partnership she desperately craves from Nathan. Then there’s Carrie and Tree, her two best friends and only family she has left. Unfortunate circumstances thrust them into Paige’s dark world, giving her no choice but to allow Nathan to arm them with combat techniques in hope they’ll be able to protect themselves.
Meanwhile, Paige is having visions and discovering abilities she was unaware of. When Anwar comes to visit, his weird behavior alarms her. Could he be turning to the dark side?
Time is running out. Paige not only needs to find the incantations but also to untangle the bands around her heart and make a decision that could leave her with a life worse than death–a life of betrayal from the ones she trusted most.
