Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Looks like a new one coming in August of 2013.

Peyton Lockhart and her sisters have inherited Bishop’s Cove, a small, luxurious oceanfront resort, but it comes with a condition: The girls must run the resort for one year and show a profit—only then will they own it.

A graduate of a prestigious French culinary school, Peyton has just lost her job as a food critic. Out of work and in a bad place personally, a year doing something completely different sounds wonderful.

There are countless challenges and too many people who want to stop the sisters from succeeding. Among them are Peyton’s contentious cousins, who are outraged that they didn’t inherit the resort, as well as a powerful group of land developers who have been eyeing the coveted beachfront property.

It’s soon apparent to Peyton that their efforts are being sabotaged, but she refuses to let the threats scare her—until she’s nearly killed. She calls on her childhood friend and protector, Finn MacBain, now with the FBI, and asks for his help. He saved her life once; he can do it again.

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Looking forward to this!

It does look good.

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) I know this is out now but I haven't seen it yet. I may have to wander over to a bigger town to see if I can get it.

message 6: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 286 comments I have a hold on it at my local library. I have no idea how many are ahead of me.

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) I guess I could go to the library and see if they have it. Thanks, Anita, for the idea.

I didn't get to this one. Was it good?

message 9: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 286 comments I just got it today. I have not started it and may not till Tuesday. Lots of parties and BBQ this weekend. So many books, so little time.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 1033 comments Mod
Well, I won't be reading it for awhile. Even though my library has about 10 copies, there are 44 holds in front of me.

message 11: by Pamela(AllHoney) (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) I finally saw it at Walmart but didn't want to fork out $27 for it yet. But I do want to read it so.....

Yeah, saw it at the brick and mortar bookshop the other night. Didn't want to do that either, even with my B&N membership discount. ☺

Wendy Kalthoff (wkalthoff) | 10 comments I will wait for library book

message 14: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 286 comments I couldn't wait till Tuesday to start. I got kicked out of bed at 2:00 am. I am almost 1/2 way through. My daughter Jessi, who gave me her Julie Garwood collection, but doesn't like the contemporaries, came to dinner and I bet her a Book-Off book that she couldn't read the prologue and not want to read the book. 3 LOL's in the first 8 pages and so real about family life. It is a fantastically good book. Hot sex and a great plot.

message 15: by Pamela(AllHoney) (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Making me want to spend money, Anita!

LOL! Me, too.

message 17: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 286 comments I won the bet with Jessi. She owes me a Book-Off book (value $1.00). It's the principle that counts!

message 18: by Pamela(AllHoney) (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) lol. WTG, Anita!

Violeta (cookielicious) | 24 comments just finished the book...but I am so and so about it...still thinking about it, something felt off to me in the writting...maybe I forgot her style since I havent been reading her books for some time now...

message 21: by Pamela(AllHoney) (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) thanks for telling us, Violeta! I hope to get a hold of a copy to check it out myself

message 22: by Violeta (new)

Violeta (cookielicious) | 24 comments yeah, I was trying not to explain too much, as not to spoil it for the ones that havent got to it yet, being fairly new...but later on, we should discuss it on the group...

message 23: by Pamela(AllHoney) (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Great! Thanks, Violeta!

message 24: by Maribel (new)

Maribel (itsmemaribel) | 218 comments Finn and Peyton! The story was good, but the characters seemed kind of distant at times. And Finn really is a Hotshot! I wish there had been more story development, at times things seemed to happen so fast and inexplicably.

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) I need to get this book!

Astraycat | 9 comments Has anyone wondered why classified
Hotshot as Buchanan-Renard series? Neither hero nor heroine has connection with The Buchanans'?

message 28: by Questian (new)

Questian (sakurastrife) | 152 comments their friends with them?

message 32: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 286 comments FBI connection? Maybe Finn crossed paths with one of them?

Astraycat | 9 comments Becca in The Ideal Man Discussion replied , "In Hot Shot, Finn has the last name of MacBain which is the same as the hero in Garwood's historical romance, Saving Grace." I didn't read JG's historical, but I just found I could ask her question in Goodreads'"Ask the Author," hoped she would answer me this question.

Wonder if anyone's ever done a chart of the relationships in the contemporaries?

message 37: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Pamela(AllHoney) wrote: "Glad you are liking it, Kirsten!"

I am. But I was thinking that sometimes they go a little over the top on accomplishments of alpha males in these things. Not only an attorney, not only a super FBI Agent, he's also an Olympic gold medal winner?

message 42: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Oh, don't do that, Lisa Kay! It was quite enjoyable and very hot! It's just that I thought she sort of jumped the shark on the hero. It's not as good as some of the others, character-wise. But it's still sexy!

That's alright, Kirsten. I'm in the middle of moving and I'm hardly reading at all. It is crazy, crazy here.
