Jasper walked in the room, after he had gotten dressed into his fresh linen outfit from Carter, and sat down at the center table.

"Oh, um, sorry. I was staring wasn't I. I practice elemental magic of the air and... never mind." said Jasper, trying not to make himself the weird one on the first day.

"I just woke up," Shimo yawned.

Jasper fingered his snow leopard amulet. He wondered how it had appeared and what it was made for...

Jasper had no idea whose path he followed... he hoped nobody would force him into some crazy god he couldn't even channel.

Oh no. Jasper had no idea they would have to make their own! his mind started to panic, but he calmed himself down. *This is going to be fine. Clay is your friend! It won't hurt you!* Jasper thought.

*Flashback*

Jasper ran up the stairs, trying not to be caught. "Jasper, what happened to my perfume! And Jasper, the key to sneaking isn't speed, its silence. So would you silently come down here so I can teach you a lesson!" Jasper walked down the stairs and handed her the perfume. He stood in front of her, waiting for what she was going to do. His mother picked up the clay ball from the counter, and then, without touching it, the ball expanded, lifted up in the air, and flew at Jasper's face.

*Flashback end*

Luckily, the scar wasn't noticeable since it covered his entire face. Everyone just thought he was pale. A chill went down his spine, a tear down his cheek; he started to fiddle with his piece of clay.

((btw i still don't know how to italicize something and lol i want a cat!))

"Y-yeah. I'm fine. Just... bad memories, that's all. Could you.. uh... help me with this?" Jasper tried to remember Walt wasn't a teacher at school or someone to be afraid of, so he decided it was ok to be truthful with him: something *was* ((that was supposed to be italicized)) wrong, and he desperately needed help. He had no idea what he was doing, or making for that matter.

Night tried to use her combat magic, feeling the energy come out of her. Zia approached her and said, "Do you need some help, Night?" Night nodded and Zia started to try and help the girl.

does the italicized word not show up on your own screen but everyone else sees it??

((btw is Haven going to show up because i just had an idea but it would involve me leaving and i am supposed to be the guy her age with black hair and blue eyes...))

Jasper turned around. It was Rose, the girl he had met in the library. He saw her rubbing against an amulet on her neck, which he had never noticed before. The shape was almost the same as his: they were both warrior-like cats with curved tails. He wondered if they had been made by the same person...

((going to go watch tv be back in maybe an hour))

Haven decided it was time to stop sulking in her room and join the others even if she was entirely late.

Haven waved back and gave Eli a tight smile.

Jasper looked around the room, bored, when he noticed a girl he had never seen. She had dark hair and tan skin, and she looked just as out of place as Jasper felt. He already liked this girl.

Haven pushed her hair out of her face carelessly and scanned the room. She had that awkward feeling of someone looking at her without her permission. Not all right. Her eyes landed sharply on a boy that could only be described as odd. Dark hair and clothes contrasted strangely with his pale eyes and skin.

Jasper directed his attention toward the front of the class. He had already decided that he hated charm making.

Haven plopped gracefully into a chair near Eli's.

Haven rolled her eyes. "Too young, Eli," she said. "I think I'm one of the oldest kids here. And he's pale." She grimaced at herself. "I'm sure that's fine for most people, but not me."

"I'm older than him; not okay."

((yeah really, just one year :P))
Jasper got the feeling he was being talked about. That thought scared him. He tried to focus on the class, but this just wasn't his area of magic.

"That thought has crossed my mind," Haven agreed with Eli, staring at Jasper. She cocked her head to the side.

She thought he was trying to pay attention, and a distant idea flickered in the back of her head. Maybe she should focus as well. Her imagination was a twisted place if school was now tainting her thoughts.

"Probably," Haven answered, fiddling with the clay. However reluctant, she was surprisingly good at this sort of thing.

Haven quickly fashioned a a circle of clay. She unclasped the thin silver chain around her neck and threaded it through her creation to make a pendant for her necklace. She placed it back around her neck and smiled.

Haven ignored the feeling of elation she had at being praised. She positively didn't want to make charms; she wanted something with combat.

Haven made some sound of agreement as she sculpted an intricate tiara out of the clay. It was doubtful she'd ever use it, but it seemed pretty enough.

Jasper heard only bits and pieces of their conversation, and he started to doubt it was about him. Something about a bored, magic tiara?

Haven placed it on top of her head. "I would be the most fabulous fighter out there," she declared.

Jasper now saw the magic tiara she was referring to. She looked quite good in a crown.

Haven shrugged. "It's not that I like combat magic," she said. "I like hand-to-hand stuff mostly."

"I love magic," Haven said. "It is virtually limitless in its entirety."

Haven rolled her eyes. "Come on, Eli," she said. "Not everything has to be a trip to the human's inner psyche."

"I accidentally turned my hair purple," Haven offered.
