The forest is regularly monitored by low ranking Supernaturals to make sure no humans have escaped or are attempting to come in through the city. Any Supernatural is aloud to come out here, though. Humans are not aloud here unless with their Supernatural master.

Ember sat up in a tree her arms crossed over her chest and a small scowl on her face. It was one of her turns at patrol around a section of the forest - a job she absolutely loathed - and she simply didn't want to do it. She had several times thought of just trying to trick another of the supernaturals into doing it, or just ditching the job but she knew she was sure to get caught - the higher ranks could read minds or something, 'cause they seemed to know everything. Currently the young faerie settled for sitting on a low sitting branch on a tree that looked sturdy enough for the light weight she put on it.
Click. Click. Click. The soft clicking sound echoed throughout the forest, like a gentle breezed, it was impossible to tell from where it came from, for the noise seemed to resonate from every direction itself. It was as if the sound itself was coming from inside one's own mind. The pattern was simple, constant and without fail it continued on beat, like the tick of a clock. Though the sound never rose or sank in intensity, the repetitiveness of it made the sound seem louder and louder as time passed. It was like an irritating itch that you couldn't reach.
Amidst the towers of nature, hidden to the untrained eye by the shadows casted upon the forest floor, two figures walked. One quite taller then the other, the pair walked as if they were taking a mere stroll through the park, all but their faces visible. Even if one did not notice them between the trees, they surely would have felt them, for a malevolent pressure seemed to come from them, and if it were possible the shadows seemed to get darker. Quite out of place in all of this was their choice of clothing, they seemed to have walked straight out of Victorian England...
Demitri wore an expression of both twisted amusement mixed with a frightening calmness, as if the forest could fall to ashes around him wouldn't even bat an eye at it. The face of his companion, Calista, was hidden beneath the parasol that always seemed to cast a shadow over her face. In Demitri's hand a walking stick twirled, every moment it would tap the trunk of a tree, and like clockwork it continued. Thus the source of the sound is revealed.
It might not been an often occurrence, but every once in a while-or was it a decade?- Demitri amused himself with a stroll through this forest, where he knew many low ranked supernaturals patrolled. Perhaps he wished to grace them with the presence of such greatness somewhere i his twisted heart and thought of it as compassion. Likely there was more to it, or then again, less. Whatever the case, the ancient Shadow Taker walked along the dead leaves of the forest.

Ember, whom had started to drift into her own little 'world'. Though she was immediately taken away from it when and insistent clicking noise began to surround the empty and - previously - silent air around her. Narrowing her eyes, she let her wings bring themselves to life, easily lifting herself off the branch of the tree and into the air. She let out an aggravated grown as the insistent noise continued to echo around her. "Where the hell is that noise coming from??" She growled, the smaller scowl that she previously had on her lips returning. Letting the wings that kept her off the ground quicken their speed, she moved around, in search of what produced the clicking sound.
Demitri continued one with the impudent clicking, the expression on his face remained stilled and constant, an amused curl at the end of his lips. What a simply way to go about things, simply with the tap of one's can with a touch of magic you could make one go insane in complete frustration; as does the slow tick of time. Clearly this was the work of a peculiar individual, one who enjoys the finer things in life, there was no need to rush things when you had all the time in the world. This was, at the very least, how Demitri envisioned things.
Without warning Calista stopped, the vibration of wings disturbing the air, not something most creatures would notice. Instead of taking a course of action, she merely stood there in silence, her expression still hidden beneath the shadows of her parasol. With a glint of something darker in his eyes, Demitri arched an eyebrow, the cane in his hand stopped it's twirling and landed on the ground in a gentle thud. It was as if a silent shiver went through the forest, for all noise seemed to stop for a single moment and the forest went quiet, it was a heavy sort of silence.
Demitri's gaze fell across the tree tops, it's golden glow piercing through the shadows. The fairy- for no other creature fluttered it's wings like so- seemed to be rather close. The forest was beginning to bore poor Demitri, and Calista was exactly the best person to have a real conversation with, so Demitri hoped that this fairy would prove to be worthy of his amusement.

Embers eyes scanned around her anxiously until the tapping finally stopped and the forest became silent, save for the sound of her wings that fluttered rapidly. Letting herself back onto the branch, though this time standing instead of sitting. She was silent, thinking a moment before turning sharply, having sensed the presence of someone else there.
Then the pair moved, and not in the calm slow manner that they had before, but they were agile and graceful, one with a untrained eye might miss them as they passed by. A mere moment or two later the pair stood across from the fairy, standing upon the branch. Behind Demitri's eyes there shone a madness, a sort of dangerous madness, unpredictable about when it would come out. Other then his eyes, Demitri appeared otherwise calm the edges of his lips threatening to curl up into an amused smile. There was something twisted by the way he presented himself, something of deeper meaning beyond the surface, something about the man was simply off.
"It would be most appreciated if you were to state your name." The subtle touch of his British accent broke through as always, no matter how long he lived it would likely be show. Demitri spoke in a tone that was smooth like honey, though his words dangerous as a serpents tongue. Though the words were spoken under politeness and as if it were a question of whether she would be inclined to tell him her name, in reality it was an order.
Calista merely twirled her parasol, her face hidden from the fairy across for her. Calista stood small, barely reaching half the height of the man next to her, and her pink dress seemed enormously out of place in this dark forest. Yet, there she stood upon the branch, silent.

Her eyes widened a fraction when she spotted the shadow taker that stood behind her and she back away a little. "Uhm... Heh... I.. I'm Ember.." She managed to mutter eyes darting to the femal that stood near to him. "Is there anything... I can do to help you..?" While the supernaturals that where of higher rank then her she found not scary at all, the shadow takers scared the hell out of her and she usually tried her best to avoid the eight that lived here
Dimitri smiled as if her question was amusing in some way, his eyes seemed to see everything with the intensity of their color, it made you wander if he really could see right into your soul. Next to him Calista giggled, the laugh of a little girl, eerily out of place in the situation. "That is a good question." Dimitri spoke thoughtfully, as if a most interesting idea had just popped into his head. "Can you help me? I am not quite sure. What is a little thing like you capable of?" While the Shadow Taker tone was polite as an English gentlemen, there was something viscous and threatening about the way he spoke his words. It was almost depressing to him, when they could be scared so easily, really, it just ruined all the fun.
Embers cheeks tinted angrily and embarrassed when he had called her little - she hated being called little - but she held back her anger knowing she would be either harmed or killed if she lashed out at him. "I'm capable of what could be amazing things." She stated matter-of-factly, as vines started to wrap gently around her arms and waist, seeming to caress her gently.
