What do you think of the supernatural creatures in this world? Do you like the separation of Vampires vs Kuryans, where one can withstand sunlight and the other cannot?

The better to see the hotties sparkle... wait, wrong series. *Grin*

Just kidding. Yeah I do like the dichotomy. At first I thought "hey, that's playing dirty, giving the good guys such an advantage" until I realized it makes the Kurjans that much stronger for having to overcome the massive daylight handicap. They're brutal!!

Brandy | 14 comments I think the separation is a good thing. Even tho the good guys drink blood there is something similar to them out there that is worse. Reminds me of another authors book, Christine Feehan, Except her good guys are the Carpathians and bad guys are the vamps. Its amazing how authors can come up with these other worlds that drag us in, or at least me. haha

Ooo the Carpathians are great too! That was one of the first PNR series I read and I still think about it sometimes.

I like the idea of it. I have always enjoyed there being more to you go in sunlight you die. Not all vampires are bad and I feel like if their soul is good they should be able to go into the light. If their soul is dark they should stay hidden within the shadows. I also like that drinking blood for the vampires is not only about intimacy but dominance, a little biting can be fun. I don't think blood should always be about need but also about wants to feel that other person so much more that you exchange blood and become part of each other more. Granit I can see how this could be a double edge knife, but most things in relationship of any kind especially of supernatural types can be.

You know, I hadn't really thought about it like that with the Dark Protectors vamps, but you're right - that's exactly what it is. Another way of dominating. I think I just got shivers. *grin*
