Did I read somewhere, that there is a prequel to this book?

If so, can anyone tell me, what's it called?
Would very much be appreciated...

Have you read it? Is it worth spending the money on it?

It is Rift and the second book just came out called Rise. I loved Rift I thought it was way better than all 3 of the Nightshade books. After the ending of Bloodrose I said I would not read her books again but I am glad I did. I just received Rise yesterday and have been lookin forward to reading it.
