English Translations of Scandinavian/Nordic Mysteries & Thrillers discussion

I'm going to give time for us to reflect on current authors books as they come out in the US. Also its time for questions to be answered. The date the books will come out in the US is the release date.

If you check under the Upcoming Reads, under More books....you will find most of the current books that will be coming out. The dates finished is just so they will print.

James Thompson didn't you write on Leena Lehtolainen in your blog?

I think he wrote or talked something about her somewhere.
Is anything by her yet available in English?
(I have a vague memory about discussing her stuff in the same contexts of why Finnish authors generally write just for Finn audiences = don't sell abroad, and I think she didn't even have an agent listing her stuff in English, but that was probably a few years back already)

Yeah, she's got a book in English My First Murder. Was wondering if I should get it? She has several books out in Finnish for you.

I think I've read only one of her books (ever/at all, and it was) in Finnish, and it was more on the lines of meh/ok for writing and story. :-/ I'm curious how well her stuff gets translated though... (but not enough curious to get the book yet).

Well my library had her. She writes in the first person. Gabby, like your best friend. Comes out with weird remarks out of nowhere, but she's fun. Halfway through. Finished. I'm happy to report that there are 4 or 5 books that aren't published in English yet. Be waiting for them, yep!!
