Hello to all, I've arrived at the invite of my good friend Jennifer. I'm from Vancouver Canada, and I'm a book addict:)Looks like a great line-up of books you've picked.
Hello everyone. Jennifer invited me to the group. I'm from Windsor, ON Canada and I love reading! There's a great list of books you have, most of which I have not read yet, so I'm very anxious to get started!
I just joined, since I'm interested in reading this month's choice of books. I have always thought about reading Life of Pi, and should be able to get it soon at the library. I'm also from Ontario, Renee, and enjoyed your comments in the Agatha Christie group.I agree with Florence and Renee that the books you've picked look great. Also, I haven't read that many of them, which is another bonus.
Hi all.. I am Pallavi from Bangalore, India. Alana invited me to this group... I am yet to explore the topics here.. Any books will do to me,until I like it:)Hope i will have a great time here and make new friends :)
Glad to see you Pallavi! I always enjoy your comments, you've got some good insights from different perspective, which is nice especially with classic literature. Looking forward to seeing what you think of To Kill a Mockingbird :)
Alana wrote: "Glad to see you Pallavi! I always enjoy your comments, you've got some good insights from different perspective, which is nice especially with classic literature. Looking forward to seeing what you..."Thanks Alana.. we will have some good time here too :)
Hi, I am Connie, and Alana invited me to join the group. I love classics, so I am very excited about this group. I live in the South in the US, so To Kill a Mockingbird has a very special place in my heart. I look forward to reading together.
Hi Helen here.
I like the idea of reading the 1001 books, but the sheer number is a bit daunting. Reading 101 of them sounds far more manageable, especially as I've read a few of them already.

So happy to see new members. Looking forward to interesting discussions. We are currently nominating books for the August read and will be setting up a poll around the 15th of the month. If you have a preference for the August read, please be sure to nominate your selection under the thread set up for that purpose. There is a thread for the book from the adult list and a thread set up for a book from the children's list.
Hi, I am Julie and am an Australian living in the Middle East. Looking forward to re-reading To Kill a Mockingbird - it's been a while since high school! It has remained one of my favourites though. Found the link to the group while looking for the list, thought why not. Have read a few of these - some of them very recently, so don't have too much catching up to do :)
Hi! I'm Irene and was invited by Alana to join this group. I have been making aneffort to read through the classics, so look forward to the support I will find in this group's discussions.
Welcome everybody! Looking forward to seeing everyone's thoughts and seeing perspectives from around the country and around the world. Please jump in on the nominations, check out some of the older reads if you want to make some comments there, and check over the lists. We have a thread for you to keep track of what you have read as well, so you can track your progress on these great books.
Hello HelloI'm Britany! I love to read, and really enjoy my online book clubs and discussions. I'm from Central Florida and travel a lot for work. Looking forward to jumping in and getting to know everyone!
This is a perfect group for me, about 2 years ago, I found a list online of 100 books you should read in your lifetime. I started reading these and then decided I needed to space them out a little bit ;) (As a couple back to back were quite dull )This group will help get me back on track!
So glad you're participating Britany. Consider nominating a book from each list for our August read. We will have a poll in the third week of July to determine the winner.
Yay, another convert! Hopefully we'll help you along in that list pretty well, Britany. Looking forward to some good discussions!

Hi, I'm Kim and I have always loved classics. I was invited to join the group by Alana (thank you!). It has been many many years since I read To Kill a Mockingbird and I'm very excited to re-visit it.
Welcome Kim! I actually tried to find a copy of Mockingbird at a yard sale today, but alas! I will have to wait for my library copy. I'm excited, tho!
Fortunately, my son still had the paperback copy he read in high school. I started it this morning :)
Welcome Kim. Please feel free to nominate an adult and/or children's book from the list for our upcoming August read. A poll will be going up on the 15th of July.
Hi Kressel! Welcome!
Welcomes Anthony!
Please jump in with our August nominations from the adult and children's lists and jump into our July discussions for To Kill a Mockingbird, or look through some threads for books previously read and join in the discussions there. Happy reading!

Hi everyone! Just realized I hadn't introduced myself yet - I'm Sheila and I live on Cape Cod, MA. I love classics, science fiction, historical fiction, anything really. I'm looking forward to reading Breakfast at Tiffany's and loved the movie so it'll be fun to see how different it is from the book.
welcome Sheila! good, I'm glad you're excited about our next read and I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
I, as well, neglected to introduce myself. I love the New Yorker, my Kindle, classic & serious literature.Last five reads: Sons and Lovers, Ulysses, Rebecca, Mockingbird: A Portrait of Harper Lee & To Kill a Mockingbird
Next five reads: Pride and Prejudice, Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Stories of John Cheever, Collected Stories & The Pillars of the Earth
Five on the wish list: All the Pretty Horses, Alias Grace,Wondrous Strange: The Life and Art of Glenn Gould,A Passage to India, 1984
Hi, I'm new to the group. You have quite a few 101 books to read that are also on my TBR reading list so I shall be joining you from time to time.
Welcome Sandra! Sorry I'm so late, I was having computer issues and wasn't able to check the threads very much. Please check out our current reads and join in discussion!
Hi all, just joined the group. I must compliment you guys on the booklist- it sold me right away to get into a second book club. I'm in New Brunswick Canada and I devour books at an alarming rate. I'm looking forward to finally having people to discuss and debate with over literature and characters. Happen to already have a copy of clockwork orange so it must be fate.
I'm glad you like our list! And that you have our current book, it means you can jump right in! Look around, check out some of the completed book discussions (you can always go back to those) and check out some of the conversation threads. Nice to have you with us, Ladywordsmith!
They should be a little easier to find and it hasn't been updated yet. A couple need to be crossed off but this is the list for 101 bookshttps://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
And here is the 101 Children's Books List

Thanks for linking those Renee! I haven't figured out how to "lock" the lists folder to the homepage. Jenn actually needs to update the lists because I can't edit her posts, but I know she's been pretty busy with the holiday season, so those should be updated soon. Just check out the bookshelf link to see what we've already read.
Hi, I'm Amanda. I stumbled across your group. I'm interested in pretty much all the books in the list. I look forward to reading along with you.
Welcome Chinook! Please feel free to check out the current reads as well as comment on previous reads. I'm getting ready to post the polls for our January read as well. Enjoy!
Hello everyone. I have joined this group because I want to read a few classics this year. Is there a list of the 101 must read books? I can't seem to find one. I do see what the current reads are. Looking forward to participating in some of the discussions.
Linda
Linda I haven't been able to make the folder with the lists to "pin" to the main page, but if you click on "discussions" in the right-hand menu, the folder will show up. It hasn't been updated in a couple of months, but all of the books we are reading are listed.
Welcome to the group!
Welcome to the group!
I just joined the group a few minutes ago. As a former elementary educator and a current virtual school mom, I am mostly interested in the Children's Book List. However, I see several on the other list that I am interested in reading as well.I tend to do most of my reading on the Kindle app. I just requested The Giver through my local library. However, I am the second one in line. Amazingly, Diary of Anne Frank is not available digitally from my library.
