It did well in last month's poll so I'd like to resubmit The Story of Earth: The First 4.5 Billion Years, from Stardust to Living Planet
The Signal and the Noise: Why So Many Predictions Fail - But Some Don't Nate Silver's book on statistics and their use and misuse. Kind of math, important for science.
I'd love to read The Signal and the Noise: Why So Many Predictions Fail - But Some Don't with this group. I have the feeling I'd need some help along the way.

I'd like to second one of Aleks' nominations: The Holographic universe by Michael Talbot. (Although there are a lot of interesting nominations already.)
I'll second Nature Wars: The Incredible Story of How Wildlife Comebacks Turned Backyards into Battlegrounds. Had a few of the problems mentioned in the book review myself!
I would like to nominate A Universe from Nothing: Why There is Something Rather Than Nothing. I think that the book is worth exploring :)
I recently saw a recommendation for Cathedrals of Science: The Personalities and Rivalries That Made Modern Chemistry, and sounds like it could add to the difficult-to-find chemistry field.
Don't know if it's too new or not but I would really like to read The Particle at the End of the Universe: How the Hunt for the Higgs Boson Leads Us to the Edge of a New World
Both Nature Wars: The Incredible Story of How Wildlife Comebacks Turned Backyards into Battlegrounds and The Particle at the End of the Universe: How the Hunt for the Higgs Boson Leads Us to the Edge of a New World were published in the U.S. in mid-November. Both sound fascinating but I don't know whether they are available in other countries yet, or in libraries. I recommend that we hold off on these for another couple months.
We have not read much dealing with the subject of geology or the Earth but I thought Our Magnetic Earth: The Science of Geomagnetism looked interesting.

Ilyas wrote: "I would like to nominate A Universe from Nothing: Why There is Something Rather Than Nothing. I think that the book is worth exploring :)"I'll second Ilyas' nomination, with the same reasoning. :)
