It sort of depends on the book-if it's REALLY good I'll re-read it, if its pretty good I might attempt to read it again, which I don't always get far in. Some things though, I think, are better read once-it really just depends on my mood. :)

Many books i never re-read but there are a few like "the moon by night" by Madeleine L'engle that i have read quite a few times but otherwise it has to be really good for me to re-read

The one series that I have reread is Harry Potter. Other than that, I'm typically not a fan of rereading books, as I quickly lose interest in them the second time around.

I don't really like to re-read books because then I don't have as much time to read books I haven't read that I want to (and that "want to read" list is extensive!)

I have honestly never reread a whole book. Once I have read it, I already knows what happens so all I read is my favorite parts over and over and over and over again. I try not to dwell on one book for too long though because I have a never ending list of books I could be reading at the same moment.

I am currently rereading a manga called Death Note, Vol. 1: Boredom

Sometimes I do this thing where I put my books into priorities...first priority comes the book I'm currently reading/planning to read soon, second priority is rereading books...and something like fiftieth priority comes the books that I've stopped reading (like the casual vacancy)

I am an avid re-reader, haha. I've re-read so many books. If I love a book, I'll love it every time I read it. And I love a lot of books.

I love to re-read books I liked, because every time I re-read a book, I realize a detail I did not notice before. Also, every time I read it, I get a new feeling, for example, sometimes after reading a book for the 3rd time, I just start crying at the sad parts, even though I never did the first 2 times. I am a huge re-reader.

I re-read books my favorite books....but it's a fact, at least for me, that reading a book for the first time is an experience which can never be same to reading that book another time.

I hardly ever re-read books. there are just too many that I haven't read yet

I really enjoy rereading books, particularly some of my favorites. I feel like I pick up new details and plot points every time I reread a book, allowing me to fully appreciate the story.

It depends, if it's really really good I might re read the book if I have time. For Hunger games I re read it because the movie was coming out.

I adore re-reading books. If I didn't have a propensity towards re-reading, I wouldn't own as many books as I do (because I never buy a book I haven't read before, unless it's written by a very trusted author. Books are expensive; I can't waste my money on something I may not like). However, I don't have a lot of time re-read, which saddens me. There have been so many books I want to visit again, and just haven't been able to. Hopefully that'll change when I put myself on a "reading regime," where I strictly outline what I read each month. And I will always include at least one re-read.

Depending on the book, sometimes I re read them. One example is the thirtheen tale, is a wonderfull book that I don't mind re reading. But I rayher read another book and find new characters and stories

I re-read my favorites before the next book comes out. Sometimes I re-read just because too. I've read the entire Harry Potter series more times than I can count.

There are many books that I will reread. Mostly when it's been a couple months/years and I forget the details, I want to refresh my memory, I definitely will reread a book. It does have to be an amazing book for me to reread it, though, as well.

I'm the kind of person who just can not reread a book. Once I've read it, I've got it stuck in my head. Its just me. Only if it's my favourite book thats just over the top and extraordinary will I read it once again.

@Grace your not alone every time a new book in a series comes out I find myself rereading the the other books to make sure I haven't forgotten/missed anything. :)

The only books I have ever re-read are the Harry Potter books. I can't even tell you how many times I've read them. They're like my escape world, when I'm feeling depressed or anxious or just feel bad I'm general I can escape to the world of Harry Potter and everything is better :)

Most of the time when I reread a books it's either because...
1. The sequel just came out and I forgot everything that happened in the previous book(s)
or
2. The movie is about to come out.

The Forgotten Beasts of Eld by Patricia McKillip. Wonderful book, beautifully written. Also, Far From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy. I re-read those two often.

I completely enjoy rereading a book! It obviously wasn't that good if I'm not willing to read it again!!!

What's the point of buying a book when you only read it once? Mystery and Horror I understand, (If they have written it right, you don't want to read it again), but not re-reading a book like Harry Potter is a crime against humanity (Or against the author).

I love rereading books, and I have a few select favorites that I read on almost a yearly basis. I agree with Sam up above - why buy a book if you're not going to reread it?
