What books just left you speechless?

The Pirate Ghost (Formerly known as the Curmudgeon) (pirateghost) Do you mean "speechless" in a good way, or in a bad way?

In a weird way!

The Pirate Ghost (Formerly known as the Curmudgeon) (pirateghost) Okay a new author and indie book The Psalter by Galen Watson

Very Thought Provoking.

Wow! It does look slightly odd.

The Pirate Ghost (Formerly known as the Curmudgeon) (pirateghost) It would be in a good way, though...maybe not so weird as uncommon candor.

Okay, maybe I'll give it a go.

The Pirate Ghost (Formerly known as the Curmudgeon) (pirateghost) Park your religious sensitivites (or noted lack of religious sensitivities) on the shelf to read this one...and gread all the way through...it gets better and better.

Well I'm not very religious anyway so you never know, I'll probably love it.

I found The Unbearable Lightness of Being very difficult to read and I didn't finish. Just wondering if anyone else has read it?

Lynn Mccorry | 104 comments @Kyle, I'm going to have to give this book a go. I'm usually good at figuring out the ending so would love a challenging book :)

@Christine, yes I've read Sickened. Great book. I found it very sad though. Munchausens by Proxy (sp?) is a terrible sickness.

I'd have to say that "Unwind" left me speachless. Well sort of at least. Brilliant book with what I consider to be a scary theme. The descriptions near the end of the book, totally messed with my head.

message 22: by April (new)

April (ajoys) @ Lynn and Kyle I am also usually good at figuring out 'who done it'. Definitely interested in reading Valentine!

Julia (juliace) Hi Kyle - I've read a few of J.Picoult books but not "House Rules". What is that one about?

House Rules is about a young boy with Asberger's Syndrom e who is fascinated with solving crimes and profiling serial killers. Then he becomes a suspect in local murders. It's an excellent book!

VickiLee Katherine wrote: "Anyone read the historian by elizabeth Kosovo. Excellent."

This novel is massive and I must admit it took a huge commitment on my part "to say yes to the book!" However, once I was in, I was captured by the premise, the characters, the travel, the mystery, the absolute complexity of it all. I must be truthful and found the ending a bit obtuse until I spoke with someone else who had read the book. It was worth every minute.

The book that really filled me with peculiar images and feeling was Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell. Did anyone else manage to climb through this huge tome?
