I just invited members of another group I moderate (Dare to Dream) http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/6... to join us. This book fits in nicely with a current group challenge because one of the tasks is to read a book set in Louisiana and it just so happens that The Right Hand of Evil is set in Louisiana and the Dare to Dream reading challenge just happens to end the same day that this group read ends on my birthday February 28th :-) It's perfect!
If any of you Dreamers are here please let yourself be known and if any of you John Saul Fans would like to Dare to Dream - head on over :-) Thanks

I think I'll take the transit to work this morning & dip my toe into @ least the first chapter. I'll be back & relaxing reading, & in the mood to conversate on the book after 6PST. See you then.
Finished it as well. Let's just say after reading The Manhattan Hunt Club, and The Blackstone Chronicles, other works by Mr. Saul fall short (imho). Those are the only two that I didn't figure out what was going to happen right away. The Right Hand Of Evil was alright, just not my cup of tea.
I enjoyed it but it wasn't my all time favorite. And who let's their kid just hole up in a dark basement? Lol

I've read this book 3 or 4 times. I like the vibe.. old house to make into a hotel.. alcoholism.. etc. I have another book that is ridiculously simiar.. so much so that I always get confused. I usually end up reading them together. it's "Lullaby" by Diane Guest. anyons read it? cute twist at the end.. and really quite a similar vibe to this one
Wow... I wrote that post like months and months ago... and it just posted yesterday somehow? Totally weird. ;)
If you like Right Hand of Evil, you'd like Lullaby I think. I never read one without reading the other actually.. there are parts of each that are better than the other. hehe
By the way, good "seeing" you again, Dustin! Been a long while since I had any time to pop on here (or read much for that matter).
