I chatted with some amazing book bloggers (via Twitter) this afternoon, and I thought it might be cool for everyone to have a more permanent place to discuss things. :)

Rena being a "conduit" for Wallace's power at the end is a result of her descending of a Powerful bloodline too. I deduced that.

The question: Did u immediately know that Rena that Rena had that ability or did it become revealed over time, as you progressed through the Plot?

Thanks for the question, Gerchia! I knew there was something special about Rena, and I had a feeling she would (view spoiler)[ belong to one of the "balancing" bloodlines (hide spoiler)], but I wasn't sure what all that would involve. It took some time to flesh out those details and make sure they worked within the established universe. :)
