Well, that's a good start anyway!
Rachel Morgan is one of the great fictional characters in fantasy literature. But if we're talking about any book we're given an impossible task. Fiona Griffiths, Sherlock Holmes, Lucas Davenport, Virgil Flowers, Hercule Poirot, Mrs. Marple, Dracula . . . you see my point? That's not the tip of the iceberg and it's a very, very big iceberg.
But why why why do she insist minks are rodents. It drop 1,5 stars for me! It’s like Insist horses are pack hunting meat eaters without explain its fiction connected to the book. This just make it look stupid.
This is impossible task because there are too many. Unless you are talking about a certain series XD
I absolutely ADORE Rachel Morgan, she is definitely one of my favorites. I also like Mac, Dani, and Barrons from Moning's "Fever" novels (but I have to admit I always picture Barrons as Aidan Turner with those picturesque Poldark smolders and that dark deliciousness, ha!).

Wait, how did I forget John Matthew/Tehrror from BDB??? You are right!
That was a fabulous character arc.

Kinsey Millhone (Sue Grafton's Alphablet series)
Ender Wiggin (Orson Scott Card's Ender series)
for my all time favorites (Kvothe might make the list, Patrick Rothfuss just needs to finish more books first so I can decide).
Who are yours?
