Looks intriguing. I'm usually not much for time travel romance, but I might give this a go. Glad to see it is available for kindle. I will add it to my wish list and check it out when I get a chance. Thanks for letting us know about your book.
Welcome, as I've said, to a fellow traveler, E.B.The threads are varied here, only missing your input.
But who knows what the Future will bring?
Thank you for the warm welcome! I am loving reading the posts here so far, it is nice to see so many people interested in time travel fiction. IRL I only know a handful that actively read in the genre, so I am looking forward to hanging out here.
Not sure where to post a teeny update, but thought this was the most appropriate place to share. The Legend of the Bloodstone made the Quarterfinals for the ABNA contest. There is a free excerpt available at:http://www.amazon.com/The-Legend-Bloo...
and the Kindle version is $.99 on Amazon right now. Thanks to those who offered encouragement, I appreciate it very much. It is nice to be amongst others who "get" the TT thing, haha. ;)
You posting in the right place E.B , this is your thread :)
And well done! Congratulations on your book's progress in the contest. I am sorry I seemed to have missed the introduction of your new book. I didnt realise you were a budding new author too. Good luck with your book sales too. I've added one more sale to it on my Kindle app after reading the first chapter in the sample. Gets right to crunch straight away, doesnt it. I will be lowering my expectations though because I'm a little wary of romance heavy novels and my knowledge of US history is absolutely poor!

Thanks, Tej!! Yeah, I'm a newbie author as well as a reader. The only downside to chasing the dream is that it kills my reading time, haha! Thank you for checking out my book, maybe I will convert you over to the dark side for romance, mwwwaaahhhh (insert evil laugh).
I think Tej watches way too many movies to have any time for romance. From what I've gathered in the message boards, his greatest loves are time travel tv shows, time-travel movies, cricket, and time travel fiction.
I also am not a huge fan of time travel romance, but I have added your book to my kindle wish list because I'm a huge fan of historical fiction (particularly early American history).

Congratulations on your excellent TT novel, Beth, and on being in the ABNA quarterfinals. Way to go! Do we get to vote? Paul
Thanks, John! I am a huge history buff as well, that is what I love to read so it seemed natural to blend it in with my time-travel interests. I've had male friends read it and give some very interesting feedback, so it will be fun to see what you guys think.Paul, thank you! This has been one wild rush, I must admit! The excerpt is posted online and readers can download it for free and post a review if they choose. At this point, readers can't actually vote, but in the finals they can. So far this has been a great experience, and I found the two Expert reviews extremely helpful. It will be neat to see what Publishers Weekly thinks as well.
One crazy week, for sure ;)

...and playing time travel video games. Wait a minute, that's not fair...its you and Amy who got me even more addicted to time travel with this group!
Oh and there is also one more time travel hobby I have, that I never mentioned before...astronomy :)
OK I might have to learn a thing or two about romance from EB's book. Something tells me giving up some of my time is one of the requirements....

It's so large I can't take it off the transit, which has an equatorial mount.

Your dog look's sad...there's no food in the parabolic dish he's looking into!
Impressive apperture, let's take this into the telescope thread, I'll post up my great story of beating the odds with carrying an 8inch telescope rig on my back on public transport to stargazing parties in floodlit polluted London, with pictures included. You look experienced so I am going to need advice on stuff from you. So see you on the telescope thread, later :)

That is one romantic hobby. ;)

I noticed from your Facebook page you have a sequel to the Legend of the Bloodstone just released!
Good luck with that, still yet to finish your first one...grr, so slow.

Can I ask if you have a planned set number of books in the series with a story arc? Or is each book a standalone Time Walker novel?
Sure! Each book can be a stand-alone, but I think it would be most satisfying to read beginning to end. The series arc is unraveled throughout the books, but each book has independent character arcs and stories. Book 2 has more of the magical backstory involved. The two main characters in Book 1 continue throughout the series as POV characters, but there are also several other POV characters added as well. The next book out will be a novella for the series, which I call book 2.5 haha since that is where it falls in the timeline. The novella features the POV of 2 secondary characters, and kinda just grew from Book 2. I must say it is difficult to make series books stand alone. I struggled to give enough back info as tidbits in Book 2 without boring those who already read the first one. It's a tricky balance and I hope I didn't slaughter it. (Not that I'm opposed to slaughter, mind you...)
I originally had the entire series planned out, but things change when your characters step onto the page. It is superfun writing them so far.
Hope that makes sense?? Please forgive typos, I'm on kindle since GR is all fouled up :)
Just moving a post by EB to a more appropriate thread, sorry EB, I cant actually move the post so I'll just re-quote

Tej is moving:Good job Tej, keep it simple but, on general principle, boo & hiss on you.
Just for the record.
E.B., does your Future still contain Jamestown?
Again, just for the record.

Congrats, Beth! Must be all those excellent reviews from your fans here on Goodreads. Keep it up!Now about this dude squirming on my iPad screen . . . Another enthusiastic fan, I presume?
Good for you! I love these books. I am currently reading Return of Pale Feather on my kindle and wondered if you had ever put together a family tree for Maggie or for Winn? While reading, I am often stopping to think about who is who's uncle and who is who's son and a tree reference would be awesome!
Awesome Eebee! Well done. I started reading your second book, you wasted no time with the title reveal! That was a surprise :)

I have one in the works, planning to put a family tree and a few other "extras" in a complete set bundle after book #4 is out(looks like it will be around Christmas). If you think of anything else you would like to see, just let me know and I will make it happen.
@Paul~ You must see Napoleon Dynamite...Best.Movie.Ever.
Thanks @Fletcher! Every single one helps. So cool you're reading it. It makes me happy that guys can enjoy it too.
Tej, so far ROPF was my favorite to write...glad it surprised you, I have been wondering if people figure it out before it happens or not.
@Amy, TY :) My head is in the clouds right now.
Just wanted to share that A TALE OF OAK AND MISTLETOE has advanced to the final round of the 2013 "We Need a Hero" Contest sponsored by the Romance Writers of America\NYC. It will be forwarded to the final judge from Simon and Schuster. I entered it on a whim with an excerpt that wasn't a clear-cut "hero" type scene, but to me it was one of the best ways to show off my hero being a hero. I'm like a giddy bundle of nerves over this. Maybe I should go muddin' to burn off some steam?! haha
If you would like to check out the excerpt you can view it HERE in this post. Keep your fingers crossed!!
Powerful writing, E.B. Best of luck with the "Hero" contest. Tell the final judge we're ready to vote! :-)
Congrats Eeby! Well done again.
Sorry still yet to finish your book, I had to take a hiatus on all reading to concentrate on some work projects :(

When a magical Bloodstone sends a modern day woman back in time to Jamestown, 1622, she is captured by a Powhatan warrior who is torn between his duty to kill her and his desire to keep her. As they battle against each other and the message she brings from the future, she must decide whether to return to her own time, or to make a life in the past with the man who holds her heart captive.
Would love to hear any thoughts and input. Thanks for checking it out.
