The Son of Sobek discussion

i really want to know!!!! read that it was going to be in the back of the paperback version of The Serpent's Shadow. but it was only a short story!! hoping that he was trying it out to see how it goes...he also said that he had a lot of fun writing it!! sooooooo please let it become a book series after he is done with HoO!!!!!!!!

My guess is no, especially seeing as he has his whole Norse series planned right after. :( BUT, at least we get 40 pages of amazing-ness!!!

It'd be the best year of my life! Second best. This year is the BEST! Skipped end of the world, the Percy Jackson movie #2 coming out in August, House of Hades coming out in September, Great netball tournament yesterday.... :D

The other books in Heroes of Olympus has been released in october. I read somewhere (a link from Riordan blog to an interview about the son of Sobek)that the House of Hades would be released October the 8.

OMG can't wait. and i mean literally, I CAN'T WAIT!!!! these next 8 months is going to take 4ever....

Probably it depends on how this one is reviewed by the public.

He did that once he had finished his Heroes of Olympus series and Norse series, he may write a crossover series. Also something about the war being fought within camp.

If nothing happens, and this course follows my opinion is 87 percent. I knew that a second olympus
series would be written as i know their will be a crossover- trust the hints and follow your instincts.

It only makes sense that a crossover will happen.

I hope so but it will be really tough to write even for the MYTH MASTER

I think that maybe Carter will come and help Percy and Annabeth, that would be so awesome! Unless, Rick is tricking us into believing that..... I hate Rickhangers!

Hopefully ... But I reallyyyyyyy want to read the crossover !!!! My guess is Rick Riordan will be writting another crossover as well while doing the Norse series 'cause he did The Son Of Sobek while doing The House of Hades . That's just my guess ... comment if you have some ideas 

I just read The Son of Sobek the other day and it definitely looks like he might and he said that he might in an interview, but he's not sure. I really hope he does, that would be so awesome.

I hope he does... it's a good idea and I heard somewhere that Heroes of Olympus isn't the last time we'll see Percy Jackson :)

I don't think Riodan will unless he was litteraly stuck by huge idea that could work. He's already said that the short story was ONLY done because so many fans wanted it. He left an open ending in the story in case he one day wanted to revisit the idea since there was so much fan pressure.

The 2015 thing is a lie. In the interview he talks about the cross over BUT then says he was more interisted in making a Norse based book and said that he had planned to do the Norse book earlier but ended up writing the others first. The 2015 refrence was from when he said that he has a contract for another series but it was for the NORSE myth based book which he said will likely come out in 2015. Then he said that he might revisit the idea of a Kane/Olympian cross over but as of now there are NO plans since he admitted that he just doesn't have any story plots for it.

I really really hope so. I don't know. I just can't get enough of Mr. RR's book series. And by the way, just wanna share you guys about his update here...

Interviewer: Tell us more about your crossover series, The Son of Sobek. Can we expect to see more?
Rick: The Son of Sobek was an experiment – combining the Greek world of Percy Jackson with the Ancient Egyptian mythology of the Kane Chronicles [Riordan’s Egyptian series]. I made it a short story, about forty pages, just to see what would happen, but it turned out so well and the fans reacted so positively I will be continuing the idea. I’m working on a second short work in which two other characters cross paths – Annabeth Chase and Sadie Kane.
