The Selection Role~Play discussion

MAxon was the first in the room. the rebels were now less than a mile from the kingdom. one more attack, and they would reach the palace.

Aspen came in not long after him. He didn't waste time saying hello. "They must have someone in the palace. There's no way it's coincidence they started attacking right after you sent the guards on vacation. Did any of my boys stay behind?" He wanted to send Aiden home right now, but if the rebels broke the defense wall they would need him.

"Hayden is here, and so are most of the guards. Eli went home. The boy needs it" he added. "The French King is willing to send troops, Aria has offered her bow and arrow, and from what Aaron told me, princess Madeline would do anything to help." he said. "who ever it is on the inside probably has a low rank in the palalce otherwise someone would have noticed soemthing."

There was an almost evil smirk on Aspen's face. Good for Illea, horrible for any rebel. "If Todd is here, we won't even need anyone else. I trained him myself till I couldn't do anymore. He could probably take me out. If I have my way, Todd will take after me once I retire." He sent a message to Hayden telling him to report to the briefing room immediately; in full armor and with weapons ready. “It’s sweet that Princess Madeline would like to help, but excluding the fact she’s a girl, she hasn’t been properly trained. King Richard made sure of that. We should put her under protection.”

"already tried." he said. "she refused, and even made sure to disappear off our rader. she sends letter from time to time with no return address." he added. "considering that she had been living on her own for almost 8 years, and fending for herself, i presum she is good at self defence at least. she may yet come in useful" he said.

"You are still too kind Maxon. Princess Madeline is in no condition to be fighting. Todd sent me a report about what happened at the beach trip, she was almost killed from being shot. She should be in the hospital. I'm going to instruct every guard I have that if they see her, she is be placed under protection. Restrained if necessary. “Aspen paused. " We should sound the alarm. The girls should be brought under ground. I don't want to take any chances. Do you agree?"

"agree" he said. "No one should be working. I want people sent with food to every home to make sure everyone is safe and healthy" he said.

Aspen nodded and then went to the wall and pressed a large switch, "Where is Glee?" A loud siren sounded throughout the palace.

Aiden appeared out of nowhere, clutching Aspen's bag like a football.
"Aiden? What's going on?" Aspen was now on complete red alert.
"I think Aria is a traitor. She wouldn't stop asking me about what was in your bag. That's not normal. I told her to back off, but she just got more aggressive. Dad, what IS going on? What is with the sirens?" Aiden had to shout so his dad could hear him. He was probably supposed to bow to King Maxon, but his top priority was protecting his dad's things.

"it is her job to know" said Maxon. the boy was why too over protective. Aria bust into the room. she was enraged. The king saw her, and bearly held his position. she had her death glare on. "Aria, you are needed in the training area. get your archers together" he said to her, so he could keep her from killing Aiden. She glared at Aiden. she mumbed something not very nice and left, still really mad. Aaron turned to Aiden. "Don't make such quick judgement boy, one day she might be the end of you, or your savior" he said.

((oh gosh, the fire alarm just went on and scared the heck out of me!))

Maxon nodded at Thomas, acknowledging his presence.

"With all do respect Maxon, my son was right to protect my things. Unless you plan on making her general I would appreciate some respect. It is not her job to interrogate my son and she has no right to be threatening him. Or to question me. Me, Maxon. We've been friends for twenty years doesn't that grant me anything?" Aspen was in shock. How could Maxon value the tempered opinion of a twenty two year old over him?

Hayden entered right as Aspen finished his speech and slammed his hand on the table. He had seen Aria on his way here and guessed she was the cause of problems. There was a guy who was probably Aspens son, he looked pissed.

"Both she and I respect you very much" said Maxon, "she knows what you always carry around, it is your son who must learn of her position" he said. "and about threatening, i will speak to her" he said

"Sir, all I said was I had to put my dads stuff away, she heard him tell me it was important. These items involve your safety and are supposed to be protected at all times. I would never betray you because someone is pressuring me. As you put it, I'd rather they put an end to me." The respect was obvious in Aiden's voice, he really was just trying to protect his King.
Hayden decided it was time to interject,"Don't get too upset about it kid, Aria is paranoid and short-tempered. She needs to be reminded of her place every now and then instead of being allowed to run around on a high horse." He smiled sweetly, which on Hayden came off as demonic, "I'd be happy to shove her off if you wish."
Aspen paled, he was annoyed at Aria, but he knew it was just because she didn't know Aiden. He'd only unleash Hayden on his worse enemies,"That won't be necessary son, save it for the rebels."

"okay, so now that we have made it clear about Aria, I want ever guard training right now. All the selected will be in the bacement. Aaron will stay with them, for he is my only desendant" said Maxon. That wouldhave to be more than a better expelanation. "We should all set up posts as well. day and night shift. the rebels will only attack when they believe we are at our weakest.

((Madeline needs to hide then. Otherwise she'll get restrained))

Aspen gestured to Dimitri, the guard who had a higher rank than Hayden technically, but was considered by everyone second at best. Hayden raised an eyebrow that Aspen wasn't asking for him,"Do as the King asks, I want you teaching swordsmanship. Have Tommy in charge of guns. Consider it a warm up, anyone that needs training for anything more than that needs to be sent to the basement to be protected, because I won't have anyone killed because of incompetence. Tell Felix, Zeke,, and Ralph to go to Aria for archery; they showed a natural ability to it. She might need them." Aspen paused, wanting to emphasize his next point," If anyone sees princess Madeline, I have a feeling she's here, they are to put her under protection. If she fights back, restrain her. Use whatever force is necessary, I won't have a French heir dying on my watch." He waved his hand dismissing all the guards, Hayden moved to follow them annoyed knowing Dimitri was going to rub this in his face. "Wait Hayden, not you. I have something else in mind for you."

Maxon was in complete agreement with Aspen, so said nthing.

"Maxon, I don't want to wait for the rebels to decide when we are weakest, I want to attack first. I'm tired of this madness. I'd like to send Hayden and..." Aspen sighed wishing Eli was here. He was a gentle kid, but he could spy extremely well despite his height. "And my son to go do recon on the rebels. Both of them are highly intelligent. Aiden is impossible to catch and well, you've seen Hayden fight. Most people run in the opposite direction rather than pursue. I think they could handle the task and return safely."

"alright. Both of you go to Aria. she will equip you with spy gear so you can report back as often as possible" said Maxon. "be ready to leave in 30 minutes" he said the the boys.

The two nodded, Hayden smirking confidently and Aiden trying to hide a huge grin that would make his dad change his mind. They left quickly.

Kellan burst through the doors about ten seconds after Hayden and Aiden left, he'd passed them in the hall.

"My apologies for being late. There was a Selected in need of assistance." He said.

"Make yourself useful and find Aaron and personally take him to the safe room."

Several smoke bombs were thrown into the room. right after they activated, the doors were sealed shut. no one was coming out. thankfully, the door and windows of the room were bullet proof so no one could get out. the smoke would not kill them. just put everyone in the room into a deep sleep.

Hayden and Aiden still had their helmets on, so they weren't knocked out. He shouted at Aiden, "Stay with the King. I'm taking these people out." He unsheathed his sword-none of the rebels had a chance.

He ran through the halls, only slowly enough to kill any rebel he came in contact with. Hayden placed a small explosion on the door that had killed at least five men to get out of the briefing room. The rest didn’t have time to get up from the blast before they felt Hayden’s sword through their chest. He went straight for the Safe Room. Knowing Aria, if she lived, would send them straight there. The first thing he was going to do was cut her head off.
