Reading this book to my 7-year-old daughter, I couldn't help expressing my feelings about how I thought it was stupid and unfair that Enna couldn't truly love this great guy until he made a fool of himself for her. Then my daughter explained that it helped her get over her own self-worth problems, because she was worried Finn was TOO good for her, and she wasn't worth him. Pretty slick reasoning for a second-grader, and helped me re-like Enna again.
