Hello, Kristy!
Thank you for asking!
I wanted to write this book for years. I even have an early draft of it on an old laptop! Just ask my college best friend, Blaine.
After I started my career as a journalist, the story became even clearer to me. The economic downturn of 2008 really sharpened my imagination. During that year and following ones, I reported daily on the gas crises, then the housing crises, the DHL pull out of Wilmington OH, the economic crash, and more. I was in Ohio at the time, at the Fox affiliate in Cincinnati. Ohio got hit hard.
I asked myself, what if things never got better, but became more extreme? What would that be like? How would we treat each other?
Then, in the winter of 2012, I finally buckled down and wrote every night until it was done. Once I was on a roll, I could not stop. It felt to my like it was finally time to put it all down and get it out there!

Hi Sara. Finally got your book downloaded and am going to read it this coming weekend. I have read nothing but great reviews for the book, that being said, is this something you are thinking about pursuing permanently, full time, or keeping both careers going? I know how good you are both as a reporter and an anchor. If anyone can do both, it's you. You have that desire, that drive, that "it" factor. Can't wait to read the book.
Ken,
I hope you enjoy the read! I am interested to hear what you think of it.
I am planning on pursuing this permanently, but not at the expense of my journalism career. For now, I'm writing novels as a side business.

Kristy,
I think most of my novels will fit into YA, New Adult, and Contemporary.
And I have several other books in the works. In addition to THE RESISTANCE, which is the sequel to THE UNDESIRABLE, I have outlined about four other books.

Sara,I'm delighted about your book! Please list it on Barnes and Noble so I can download it on my Nook.
I'm glad to know you share my love of writing. I keep thinking you might say "lots of the credit goes to my fifth grade teacher," but I guess that was too long ago for me to take any credit. :-)
Keep up the good work!
Lanita Boyd
Lanita,
Thank you so much!
Right now, it's in a certain program with Amazon, so it won't be listed on other e-bookstores until later this year.
But, I promise to let you know when it is!

I wanted to ask what was the inspiration for this book? How was the idea born? Why did you decide to write the book?
