Vote for Group Read June 20th - July 20th

Sorry if anyone was confused by the dates on this. I made the correction.
I'm happy to give people two weeks to vote in case they want to get familiar with these novels.
Nice. We're getting a wide range of votes. This should be interesting.
So far, this is a very tight race. Skye and JaneandJerry may decide who the winner is.
No problem Skye. My comment was meant that you and JaneandJerry would be the last ones to vote. Just trying to add some humor.
In any case, what a tight race.
I should mention that when we vote here, this isn't a winner take all. If people are interested in more than one book, then I will schedule that book to be read as well just like I did for Hades. It's my way of saying that I want everyone to be happy that the the book they are voting for has a good chance to be read.

And the race gets even tighter. You can vote for another book Marian.
It's okay to vote for it as a second book, yes. Regarding the book itself, I haven't read it but I will quote Meg Gardiner from her last e-mail to me.
If you want to nominate Phantom Instinct for the group to read, you can let them know that it was an O, the Oprah magazine “Best Books of Summer” selection.

For other people who want to vote and are unfamiliar with the authors, feel free to check out the pages for Goodreads and Amazon. You will see that all the authors here have made some fantastic accomplishments.
I think that since the voting has stopped, some things have to be looked at. The main thing is that while Peter James did win by a very close vote, what's revealing here is that the people who voted were interested in most of the books that were on display. As you know, I'm not into the winner take all here and since people who voted showed a strong interested in most of the books,
I'm going to do something similar that I did a few months ago and create a 4 way tie for second by voting for Stay and Long Gone. So at this point, we will have our group reads settled her for the next five months.
Below is a tentative schedule
June 20-July 20th - Dead Simple By Peter James
July 20- August 20th - Edwin Of The Iron Shoes by Marcia Muller
August 20 - September 20th - Phantom Instinct by Meg Gardiner
September 20 - October 20 - Stay by Victor Gischler
October 20 - November 20 - Long Gone by Alafair Burke
I will consider The Adversary by Reece Hirsch for November 20 - December 20 if people agree that they would like to read it since that came in 3rd. If not, then we can have a vote in October.
Since we won't be voting for several months here, I would like to experiment by having a second group read in the beginning of the month for a popular book that was on the bookshelf. If there is enough interest, then we could have 2 group reads on some months if people want to do that. E-mail me to let me know what you think.

Lela

Thanks Sandy and Lela. If we need to leave things as is, then I'm just as happy doing that. To me, I like the idea of the author leading our discussion. It makes our group read more interesting and fun.

Sounds good Carla. Hope to see you in the group read for Delirious. We'll have the next book by Candice Fox for a vote in November.
Sounds great Christine. I'm really enjoying the book and I'm halfway done in just two nights. Didn't get a chance to read it last night because I was out late but I'm anxious to get back to it tonight.
There are a lot of surprises in Dead Simple. I'm sure you'll enjoy it and look forward to hearing your comments.
