Hello, all!
I received an email last night about "Inkitt." I don't participate in writing contests, but some of you may.
Inkitt is for fantasy writers only (sorry non-fantasy writer) and it definitely is worth looking into.
Here is the link I was given. Take a look!

I actually entered the Inkitt contest last month, and found it very hard to get votes, even though the story was being read. If you decide to enter the contests, be aware that you need to advertise that you have a story posted, and that you need people to read it. If they vote, so much the better, since it's the votes that determine your ranking at the end of the contest.

I'm hosting a facebook event: The Witch Ball.
I'm inviting any of you who have books that feature a witch (or multiple witches) prominently to join in. I don't discriminate: your witches can be of any variety, magical discipline, degree of evilness or goodness, etc. etc.
The event itself is going to coincide with Halloween, but I'm doing a lot of prep work in advance, and the author collaboration slots will fill up soon. (Interviews, panel discussions, collective and individual giveaways and contests and quizzes, oh my!)
So if you are interested, go to http://amcasey.com/witch-ball and sign up for the invitation. Then click the author link at the bottom of the email.

Welcome to The Corner! I am dedicating this section of the group to you! Here is where I post helpful links to other sources. Truth be told, I am not great with giving book reviews and writing contests. I just am too busy to commit to a review and I receive too many offers to take them all. I'm sorry :( But, when I find a link to better assist you, I will toss it into the corner here for you.
And I can not say it enough. If you're starting out, check out Brain to Books. "The online beginner's manual for publishing."
