I found this story very jarring coming directly after "Starter Kit." We went from sci-fi Hallmark moment to water boarding.

We're halfway through the anthology and so far this story has the least religious context. It isn't about God or being a god. It's about having faith in the people your life.

Malmon knows the only way he can possibly survive is to withstand the torture for as long as possible and have faith that Gonzalez will save him. It doesn't hurt to have a little luck, as well.

Janet Harriett (janetharriett) | 8 comments As someone who doesn't put much stock in the existence or nonexistence of deities, I appreciated the inclusion of a story that approached the anthology's theme from the angle of faith in your fellow human being, rather than faith in a deity. Wishflowers also has a "faith in your fellow human" theme, but the fantastical setting there still gave it some distance, rather than the contemporary, realistic feel that "A Little Faith" has.

C. Dawn | 22 comments I too liked this deversion from a deity faith. It was a great story that had wonderful character development and a strong straight forward plot.
