Can anyone help to answer Meaghans' question in the General folder?(Especially Romance Writers!)

Hi MeaghanAfter reading through your question and Andrew's response, (I'm in agreeement that Michael is your antagonist) I think a resource which might help you is Debra Dixon's book, GMC Goal, Motivation and Conflict. It's a quick read and I found it extremely helpful. There are scenes she mentions from Casablanca which strike me as suiting your story. Also, I ordered a romance book, Kate Walker's 12 Point Guide to Writing Romance, but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet. There are many writing competitions you can enter for minimal fees which evaluate your first 3, 20, 30 pages etc. The feedback is valuable and I'd suggest doing this as well to hone your writing. (This was where I learned about the GMC book.) I've found it an invaluable resource.
Last year I participated in a Novel Boot Camp through Facebook. It was free and I believe Ellen Brock plans to run it again this year. Not only was the one month seminar informative, I found a critique partner through it as well.
I too love Andrew's podcasts.
Peace. Rae

CWT Meaghan has asked a question about plot and protagonists, its in the General Folder - anyone want to offer an opinion, especially anyone who has written in the romance genre?
Thanks
Andy
