A toss-up so far between The Circular Staircase, my first Mary Roberts Rinehart, and Hush Hush by one by of my faves, Laura Lippman. [It came up Hush Hush but I think it was just Hush]
So far, these are some of my favourites of 2015 (I'll keep this thread to make an ultimate Top Ten list) For now, just 5 star reads - a. Zoo Station by David Downing (an excellent historical spy/ adventure novel set in pre-World War II Berlin.
b. The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde (a fun, fantasy mystery)
c. The Soft Talkers by Margaret Millar (excellent)
d. Gallows View by Peter Robinson, a tidy well-written police mystery, the first Chief Inspector Banks mystery.
e. Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, a classic, suspenseful and well-written
f. The Murder at the Vicarage by Agatha Christie, another classic, we are introduced to Miss Marple
g. A Death in a Town by Hillary Waugh, police procedural that explores small town values attitudes under the stress of a rape/ murder
These are my 5 star reads so far this year: Original Skin by David Mark
Jackpine by William Elliott Hazelgrove
Nights of Awe by Harri Nykänen
Texas Vigilante by Bill Crider

I have posted GR reviews on all of the above.
My favorite crime novel so far: Adam and Eve and Pinch Me, by Ruth Rendell. But the year is still young.
Written for YouOnly real crime book I read this year, not really detective book but very good mystery and hysterical.

Moderator hat on: Apologies, Keith, but self promoting isn't allowed in this thread. I'll be removing your post, but there are plenty of promotional opportunities in the group's Authors' Corner. Thanks.

It's a great book. I remember after reading it, I just sat for days thinking about all of the misunderstandings that brought things about.

Agreed! It made me a Ruth Rendell fan for life. I know she passed away this year but she wrote alot of books to read.I hear she was writing a book when she passed on.

I've already pre-ordered her last book.

Got the first 3 Chris Carter books for Christmas and then bought the rest in the Robert Hunter series. I would highly recommend reading them the best books I have read this year you can not stop reading them.
I don't see "thriller" in the topic title, but I'm assuming it's allowed, so the best book I've read (so far) this year is Missing You by Harlan Coben. He's a master at plotting and use of language.
I'm going to add The Escape by David Baldacci to my list of the best of 2015 so far for me. It was excellent and my favorite in the series so far.
T is for Trespass by Sue Grafton,Rules of Prey by John Sandford, Trunk Music by my favorite author Michael Connelly; I was also quite taken with a new writer:

Kathryn, I too have only read "Wish You Well". Where do you begin or what are some of your favorites?
Skye and Elizabeth, I love the John Puller, Will Robie and King and Maxwell series. The first of each is Zero Day, The Innocent, and Split Second.

I'm waiting for upcoming book - BrutalBrutalI have read excerpts of the book and found very interesting.
Some new authors on here for me to check out.Has anyone read 'The Telling Error' by Sophie Hannah. It sold really well but I must admit didn't really enoy it which is unusual for me.
Currently enjoying the Collaborator by Gerald Seymour.
I've just finished The Envoy by C.L. McMahon. A follow up to his 2011 novel The Heretic. A great fast paced, very descriptive, action packed thriller. I thoroughly enjoyed it and love supporting relatively new, unknown authors.
I'm keen to get some recommendations on here for other new authors to try in the crime/thriller genre.

So far this year: I found author Wiley Cash's two books and loved both: A LAND MORE KIND THAN HOME and A DARK ROAD TO MERCY. A lot of pro and con has been written about Paula Hawkins' THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN. I've taken many train rides across the U.S., known ordinary people who were alcoholics so I accepted the author's view on her character's behavior (Rachel). She was spot on, so I just went along for the ride. THE FIFTH GOSPEL by Ian Caldwell (pretty heavy stuff) was a must read and glad I did since I read and enjoyed his first about ten years ago, THE RULE OF FOUR. James Anderson's THE NEVER-OPEN DESERT DINER was a delightful story and superbly told. How could anyone pass up a title like that?
Didaa wrote: "And Then There Were None"i listened to this walking to work and back about a month ago. It was a BBC production and excellent. I really enjoyed the story line as well as all the special effects. And they had a different person narrating each different character. Far superior to most audio productions. 8:D
Quite surprised with this indie read. It was absolutely captivating! I hope you check it out.J. LenningtonThe Grey Areas
Just finished "The Bone House" by Brian Freeman (2011) featuring a new detective, Cab Bolton who is quirky, independently wealthy and fun. The second in this series is "Season of Fear" and I am looking forward to reading tha soon.
Colin Cotterill Six and a Half Deadly SinsMartin Walker The Children of War/The Children Return
Elly Griffiths The Ghost Fields
Stuart MacBride The Missing and the Dead
Kate Rhodes The Winter Foundlings
Neil White Cold Kill (this one isn't new)
I have read the John Rain series by Barry Eisler which I liked, only Graveyard of Memories is relatively new.
Damien Boyd Swansong
Darryl Donaghue A Journal of Sin
Ed James Snared
Ragnar Jonasson Snowblind
I read And Then There Were None not such a long time ago and I loved it very, very much. What a wonderful, suspenseful thriller!!
My all time favorite so far this year is 11/22/63
... As a book, it was amazing and the narration for the audiobook was the icing on the cake. I must go on to say that it is now my favorite Stephen King Book.
