Shelly L. Snow | 3 comments The little grey house

There was once a house
That I moved in and out of several times
I love this house but never felt secure or sublime

The house was old and had lots of charm
But there was always someone who wanted to harm

Even if the rest of my life was going well
There was always that underlined Hell
When things weren’t going well there was no escaping
The threat of being kicked around in that Hell

It was the property owner who meant me harm
She would deceive by turning on the charm
And liked to have supreme control
Going to great lengths to flex that control

Petty little things tend to add up
Causing anger, frustration, and verbal fuss
Down the city I will march
To file a complaint against the owner

For she shouldn’t be renting that little grey house
It’s classified a storage unit by the city itself.

This little house I loved so dear
Will soon be red tagged
Then the owner will fear
All the money she’ll have to pay
In fines and fees
Her credit will soon decay.

Away from the little house I will move
Onto more secure horizons’
Where little stress there will be.
