That's funny- that book made me NOT want to go to Australia because Bryson makes it sound like everything there wants to kill you. He says it in a funny way, though... His book A Walk in the Woods did make me want to hike the Appalachian Trail, though.



I really enjoy his writing style. I like how he gets curious about something, so he researches it to find out all about it (sometimes in excruciating detail). He reminds me of my dad. His audiobooks are good, too, but I've only liked the ones he reads himself.

The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon was an excellent book, but it completely turned me off of ever visiting the Amazon. I'll stick to the documentaries where the bugs can't get you!
