NaNoWriMo Support Group discussion

I saw an ad for a software program called Character Writer 3.1. I'm wondering if anyone here has used it and if you'd recommend it. I find I'm struggling with some one-dimensional characters, but they aren't my main characters, so I don't want to spend hours fleshing them out like I do the others, but want to add some depth to them.
