What book do you guys think we should read next?

I'll make a poll in a couple of days or maybe we can agree on one here?

I'm not sure, what sounds best to you guys?

I don't care how we pick which book we're reading, but I nominate Code Name Verity.

I second Lav's suggestion because I plan to read that soon anyway.

Okay we should just do that.

Well that was easy.

YAY! Aaah everyone go read it now I need to talk about it and analyze it and also fangirl.

message 7: by Acacia (new)

Acacia (acaciaa) Since this is the first time we're doing this in a while, I think we should have it go until about the end of March.

I'll add it to "currently reading" and create a topic for it.

message 8: by Dana (new)

Dana (danachewy) | 735 comments Um okay that was really fast. ^^

Well, right now we have until the end of March to read Code Name Verity. I don't know if we're going to choose a book for April yet ...

Haha, nice. I also tend to read multiple things at once. I'm reading ... three things right now, I think. :P

Dayummm.

message 13: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 0 comments It really kinda sucks.

The list:

-Cinder

-A Piece of Time (a self-published book by my neighbor)

-Your book (I seriously only get through like two pages a day. I'm almost done, I promise.)

-Catcher in the Rye

-Copyediting for a GR member

-Some high fantasy e-book written by a GR author that is absolutely horrendous and I think I want to go give it a one-star review if it doesn't pick up in the next fifty pages

Oh yeah, I forgot you were reading my book. Eh heh heh. >.<

I love Cinder and Catcher in the Rye.

Hey guys!

Do we want to do a group read for April? And if so, does anyone have any suggestions?

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

BEYONDERS! Just kidding.

Erm, I never end up doing the group read because reasons. And I don't know a book that would appeal to a group this big...

message 17: by Brigid ✩, No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. (new)

Brigid ✩ | 11973 comments Mod
Haha, well we probably won't find a book that appeals to absolutely everyone in the group. So, we can put both of your suggestions into consideration. I'd also like to nominate The Darkest Minds because I've heard good things about it and I'm curious. I guess we'll see if anyone else has suggestions and then set up a poll. :]

I feel like we never even discuss the group read. :P

message 19: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hannahsmanyhobbies) i suggust warm bodies and the city if bones. My bff r going to read them togther. And i agree we should discuss the book that gets picked

message 20: by Sum (new)

Sum | 846 comments I nominate The Raven Boys, or maybe The Diviners. I also really loved the Montmaray series, although they are less popular despite being amazing. I'm getting tired of nagging my friends to read them. (They have too much homework or something. Pshaw.)

Aaah, I loved The Raven Boys.
I also wouldn't be opposed to The Diviners because I haven't read it yet, and I adore Libba Bray.

Oh, and I nominate Wonderstruck. It's a children's book that's half art, half writing. It's on this list of books that are being considered for some prestigious award and I found it at my library today and it's kind of amazing from what I've seen so far. If we want to go with a book that could appeal to younger and older people in the group.

It seems that there is a sort of obsession with realistic fiction with a poetic style. So…anything there would work well for lots of people here.

Sum | 846 comments Tamara wrote: "Huh, that's probably the only area I'm terrible at, poetry of any sort. ;) I read a lot of suspense, mystery, fantasy, some syfy and a little romance."

Just go with whatever you like. Personally, I rarely read realistic fiction or poetry.

Since April is over, we should probably do whatever book we pick in May...

I'll set up a poll and then on May 1st, I'll announce which book won and then everyone who wants to read it can read it! Yay!

message 27: by Elliott (new)

Elliott | 22634 comments Mod
Okay, here's the poll.
