House of Leaves Read-along! discussion

I've only just started -- finished the Intro and Chapter one, but there was something interesting that I read: Will Navidson, who Zampano is following, is partly based on Award-Winning photojournalist, Kevin Carter, who took the infamous picture, "The Vulture and the Little Girl" and committed suicide three months later.

Navidson was said to have taken a picture of a dying Sudanese girl, which sounded familiar, so I looked it up, confirming it was the one I was thinking of, and it was. It's a haunting and sad photo. Anyway, I wanted to put up that little fact because I thought it was interesting =)

I clicked to photo link before I finished the sentence. I wasn't expecting that. I haven't started the book yet so, I'm interested to know what this has to do with it.

When I read that about Navidson, it sounded very familiar! That picture is haunting indeed.
