April 2013: Child Abuse Prevention Month- Read a book where a child overcomes some sort of abuse (physical or emotional).

This IS a majorly depressing topic, but there are LOTS of books about it. Great April ladies :)
(If we can count a book of the month...)I planned to read something else, too, but I may have joined too many groups.

I read Walking Disaster in April (4/04). One of the main characters has a father who is a professional gambler and he blamed her for stealing his luck when she turned 13. They ended up becoming estranged because of the way he treated her afterward. Would that count as emotional abuse?
