I am hoping someone here can help me with a technical issue. I have a Sansa Zip Clip which I love. However, when I buy books from Tantor and transfer them to the device the chapters always end up out of order. I hook up the device to check the files and they appear correct when I look at them on my computer, but they display wrong on the device. I'm trying to listen to Shards of Hope and I'm skipping all over the book. Very frustrating!

I don't know why it happens, but there is a relatively easy way to fix it. If you look at the files on your computer, at first glance everything looks ok, but if you look more closely at the # field you will see that the numbers aren't correct for some of the files. You can go into the Properties for each individual file and change the numbers so they are in the correct order, then they will play properly. If you don't know how to do that, feel free to PM me and I'll give you more specific instructions. I've had to do this with every book I've purchased directly from Tantor. Kind of a pain, but it only takes a few minutes and sometimes it's worth it if the sale price is good enough!

Jonetta wrote: "Have you reported this to Tantor? Seems like it would be an easy problem for them to fix."I did, although not through regular channels, I guess you could say. I won a few titles from them, and that was my first experience with downloading directly from Tantor. After I discovered the problem I was still in touch with the person in charge of the contest, so I told her about it and she said she passed it on to their tech department. At that point I didn't know if it was just something weird with my computer or what, so never followed up on it. I almost never get books directly from them, so it hasn't been much of an issue for me since that first bunch.

Shards of Hope is excellent, BTW, even with some chapters out of order. :P

It worked, but what a PIA! There were 82 chapters and most of them were wrong. Thank you so much! I'll write to Tantor now and complain. :)
