Personality - Confident but not arrogant, kind, always willing to help newer agents... but they have to ask. Always willing to learn new things. Mostly an extrovert, but values her alone time. Fiercely loyal, independent, and protective.
Strengths - Learns quickly, strong (physically, mentally, and emotionally), and quick to think on her feet.
Weaknesses - Jumps into things without thinking, quick-tempered, and often endangers herself without thought.

Passionate and fierce would be the words to describe Nicola. She is determined to always finish what she starts, no matter the costs. Some would say her judgement is good, others would say it is bad; the truth is that it's a little of both. She is not afraid to risk her life or any other lives to complete a mission--failure is simply not an option for her or for SHIELD. She knows that sometimes you have to destroy something before you can make it better, and she has applied this to saving the world many times in the past. Not all may agree with her methods, especially when she brings up the concept that the lives of the many outweigh the lives of the few. It's not that she likes this concept, it is simply that she knows when to apply it. She will always take her chances, but will never make an unnecessary risk.
Underneath her powerful leader surface, however, Nicola is caring and gentle, especially when it comes to her children. She has always had a motherly instinct about her, and many of the younger agents see it. She doesn't always express her love verbally, but her actions show that she cares for Andrew and Aria just as much as she cares about saving the world.

Nicola grew up the youngest of four. She had three older brothers that would always beat on her and tease her. She never held grudges against them, though, as their teasing only made her strong-willed and able to withstand what seemed like anything. It also didn't hurt that while they wrestled, Nic became much stronger than most girls her age.
She was sixteen when SHIELD first recruited her. She'd always dreamed of changing the world, but never thought she'd get a chance to save it. She trained hard, always top of her class, always receiving top ranks at the Academy. Most respected her, though of course there were some who envied her. She could always bite back at those who were rude about her skills. She was promoted to Head of Operations when she was twenty-three, Assistant Director at thirty-two, and Director at thirty-five, when the Director before her passed away.
When she was twenty-seven, Nic met James, another high-ranking agent and the two quickly fell for one another. They were married two years later, and had two children of their own, Andrew then Aria. However, when Aria was nine, strange things began happening to their little family. Aria was able to burn things simply by touching people; sometimes things would even catch on fire simply from her touching her finger to it. It was terrifying, and Nic knew that if it were to get out that her daughter had a mutation, it would only turn people against her family, perhaps even put Aria on the index. So instead they hid it from SHIELD, and everyone else out there. Nic and James have been working with Aria to control her powers, whilst Andrew grew jealous of his little sister getting all the attention, just as any thirteen year old would. Tensions run high inside the family, though to the outside world they seem so perfect.
