Cole Rush (kolejorg) | 22 comments This book will always be top 5 Star Wars novels for me. I saw it in my local grocery store on a book stand for a long time but the idea of reading a Star Wars novel just didn't click for a while. I finally broke down and purchased it and was immediately hooked after that I was tracking down every book that had been released to that point and immersing myself in the world. The great thing is the book still holds up. I've reread the series a few times over the years and have yet to grow tired of them. I'm glad we went with this book for the month.

Julie Even though this book had some rough patches, it picked up again after ch 30, and I liked the nice twist at the end. Who knew that sleep talking would save Corran's life? I don't think I will go straight to the next book in the series, but some things I would like to see are Ysanne Isard developed as an antagonist, if anything developes between Mirax and Corran, and how Corran develops his special abilities further in the timeline.

Bruce | 137 comments I had heard so many good things about this book and was disappointed that it didn't live up to my expectations. It seemed to be setting up the series and not providing an epic, self-contained story. However, the ending has peaked my interest to the read the next novel. I'd like to hear more people's opinions of this book.

Cole Rush (kolejorg) | 22 comments The first time I read the book I loved it. Although I was in middle school at the time. Having re read the series a few times they all blur together. Unfortunately none of them are really stand alone books. They build on one another. And bases on nostalgia alone. It's a 5 for me.

Bruce | 137 comments It seems many readers of this book read it for the first time when they were in high school or earlier. That's based on several reviews I've found. Makes sense considering how old the book is. I think once I get to the next book that the story will get more interesting for me. The characters are great and play off each other really well.
