I read it for the first time last year, because I'm a teacher and I wanted to study it in class... but since I'm not from an English-speaking country, it doesn't really count for my "schoolhouse shame" category. I enjoyed it very much but I also decided to never read a book by Steinbeck if I'm feeling down.
