So I didn't see a thread for the mentor creation? Where would you like mentors to be placed?

Dom, do you know how to make the homepage show all the folders in a topic at once? I'm just wondering because I see you have six or seven topics in a folder, but only five are showing. Some people prefer it this way, but I just wanted to make sure.
Okay, so, I'm a bit confused here. Like, I liked the hunger games, and I enjoy RPing tons, its basically my passion nowadays, so anyway I thought this group might be a good place for me to RP... But its not advanced??? So I'm just curious as to why thats put in the name??
@Ronia, I try my best to make it as advanced as possible, but on the moment it looks like its going opposite :(
Ah, well I mean, someone who just wrote 2 lines for history and personality got their charries approved, sooo... Higher standards honestly seem like the easy solution to this?
I'm with Ro, if the character's aren't even advanced, then how are they going to RP? I've modded loads of 'Advanced' rp's, and never once have I accepted an application as crappy as that
Um, actually, having advanced RP in the group name implies that all of it is advanced? Like, I can understand shorter 1-2 paragraph histories if your trying to finish up some important characters for a deadline, but the RP still has time before it opens, and someone just filled out a form in all of 5 minutes? First of all, if they can't even set aside a couple hours to make a half-decent character, that kind of makes me doubt whether or not they'd actually take time to write a decent sized post in RP.But anyway, thats aside the point, if you say advanced, semi-advanced, etc. in the group name, it implies the whole of the group.
Sorry, Everyone. But it's not me who creates the non-Advanced characters. I would also prefer that they follow the name, but no, and the RP's haven't even started, so we can't tell for sure, if it bothers you, then you can leave, but really, I'm Trying :)
Well, you could always set standards and not accept charries who don't meet them? Like, you can not accept a character...
Fiend takes care of that, but I will also, I will notify the people with short characters that they should put in more detail, then I shall accept.
I'm worried that this group is full of liars and backstabbers, and mods that are being crap. Because someone deleted my post, which only spoke the truth. LET Fiend do her job without your sarcastic crappy comments and all will be well in the world.
Why don't you just use your position TO MAKE THE GROUP BETTER? Y'know, rather than deleting any slightly displeasing posts?
If you're looking to truly make an advanced rp then you should really browse the market here on goodreads. It might give you a good idea on the work, planning and general upkeep that goes into maintaining a really good advanced group. Because it is not easy. Putting advanced in the title doesn't make it an advanced group, nor does it encouraged strong writers to join and actually rp. If anything it's a turn off to join a group and see people putting in next to no effort and writing crappy 2 sentence posts. As a moderator you really have to put some work in to make sure that it truly earns the title advanced. And this also means being mature, being accountable for your other moderators and not acting up just because somebody says something that gets your panties in a twist. And FYI you should definitely listen to your moderator Fiend and the advice of the girlies above ^^ because if anyone knows anything about advanced groups it is these ladies.
(view spoiler)You say you wish for the group to be advanced, and yet you do not enforce any set standards that must be met? You approve any character that is posted regardless of how little information there is, regardless of if they even claimed a position first? When one mod tries to enforce standards that will have the group be 'advanced' as you claim you want it to be, all that happens is the other mods gang up on her and tell her to 'take it down a notch' and to stop taking being a mod so seriously? She is just doing exactly what all the other mods, what you the head mod, should all be working together to achieve and yet you patronize her? Not only is that a clear case of disorganization, its also clearly showing that you do not care about what gets made, and that the group is not advanced. An Advanced group is organized, has set standards that carry over into ALL aspects of the group that revolve around roleplaying, which means that characters must also in some way reflect that the group is advanced.
If you TRULY care about the group and want it advanced, you need to enforce the standards that will keep the group advanced, you need to have ALL the mods working towards the same goal, not one mod doing all the work while being hounded by the other mods even though they are only doing what is right. People who behave that way shouldn't be mods at all, as they have not learned to respect a mod and their role and thus do not take themselves or anyone else seriously. If you want a good group, you need solid moderators who can work together to achieve your vision, not just your friends. Sometimes in a group your friends are not the best to have as moderators, sometimes you need people who have more experience, or more knowledge in the field to be a moderator instead, and you don't have to grant modship to your friends just because they are in the group. It defeats what being a mod is all about. A moderator is someone who overlooks a group and maintains the rules and regulations created by the head mod, as well as the rules and regulations instated by the website itself. Its more than a title, its an actual responsibility that should be taken seriously.
So, take it seriously, for the sake of the group, and the members. If not, at least remove Advanced from the title, as the group is many things, but advanced is most definitely not one of them, and you disgrace advanced groups everywhere by labeling this one as such with the way it is now.
Yup. Our little squad here? We didn't sit down and set solid rules and all that, we're just a bunch of awesome friends who support each other, and yet somehow we're STILL more organized than this group. Think, a group of people who respect each other, are each other's friends, and help each other out whenever we can are better organized than you guys. Perhaps you should try some of the things we do? y'know, mutual respect, taking each other seriously, etc.

True...I totally agree with you and I have a couple of advanced groups myself and fiend is just amazing :)

Okay so what's being going on here...and I feel like I just stepped into a battle ground.
I think we should all promise if a mod breaks any rule they would be on trial, how does that sound?

First off, hello all! Some of you might know me from the twilight groupsecondly, wow, a lot of posts here XD no wonder this popped up on the recently active groups thread.
And um, if you don't mind my saying, some of those posts looked more like they were trying to help make the group advanced versus attacking anyone? I'm not trying to start any fights or anything but I saw some useful advice in some of those. Organize the group, set standards for characters that everyone follows, have all the mods on the same page working towards the same thing, I fail to see how any of those are bad things meant to bash the creator of the group Dominic?
And before anyone gets upset, I did not join merely to 'start' anything. It looks interesting but since there is a problem, I'd love to be a neutral party to help resolve this so that we can all roleplay and have lots of fun!
and we're not allowed to complain ? like it's a free world honey you might wanna toughen up some. and we were just trying o help, but when people delete my posts and act like they're doing nothing wrong, yeah I'm gonna point it out. you're sarcastic, snarky, and rude to people and need to get an attitude check. I was just trying to help and show what am advanced group is. and I'm sorry but your charries you're approving are not it. this group could be a day old or a year, you always need to have a bar of where you set your expectations. and if they're not advanced then don't be ashamed and defensive, just label it a normal group , not advanced.

Could you go to the set your rules thread.

Pam I can do that but honestly is it going to do any good? it's obvious that some mods are spiteful and hostile? so why even waste my typing skills?

Because doing that indicates we are working together, or trying to work together. If everyone wants to have their own way, we will be torn apart. Even if some mods are spiteful dont let that make you spiteful. The light will always reveal the dark :)

I had a whole long post for a certain person, but I'm going to hold back and do as you say Pam, try and make this work :)
Actually, this would be considered a debate >.> Classifying it as argueing because it goes against what you want is childish to say the least. And, actually I agree with Zaynah for this one, you really are being awesome Pamela! Glad to see some of the mods would rather come up with a workable solution rather than spam caps lock at everyone ^_^ In fact, I think I will go post some rules I think are neccasary, so thanks for coming up with that idea!
Yes, i just imagined gallons of sweet chocolate mixed with strawberry pouring into my mouth. Watch out i love my chocolate and would cat fight for it.
Thanks guys, nothing would have worked without you all. So give yourself a pat and a smile(a chocolate from me), we all acted mature taking a step into victory.
Um, might I suggest that until the new rules are established we wait to approve or disapprove characters? Since the set rules kinda go hand in hand with how much info should be on character sheets and whatnot, it wouldn't be fair to approve someone with a sheet that has next to nothing, and then get onto another member after the rules are set because they don't have enough information. I think it would be fair to do so...
^-^ okay Pamelaand Zaynah, I was not targeting anyone when I said that, merely that it should be something to consider since the rules are being redone ^-^
er....the caps aren't really necessary as in the wrong context caps can seem like yelling? But in either case it is fine. I had intended to post it before anyone could approve the profile, not after, so it was an easy mistake for you to make.
I was merely saying how it can be misconstrued in the wrong context since everywhere else on goodreads caps generally is how someone conveys a yelling voice especially when its not being done because one is happy excited about something, which is not the case hereAnd im simply not a fan of being yelled at, which os what it feels like is happening when one talks in caps all the time, its like being yelled at through the Internet every time she posts :/
So I've just been reading through this page and it seems like your being really rude to Jac and Leena, they are only trying to help you make this group advanced and it isn't fair on them. And Kikki is right, it does seem like she was shouting at her. I get that she may not have been but considering the context of the rest of the page it can certainly been seen like that.
