I just added this book to my reading list. I have loved everything by her before. Looking forward to it!
Just joined, love to read YA - this looks like a good one! I'm also part of a long-running YA book group in my town, and am always scouting out for awesome new reads. :)
Got the book on Thursday and I'm already done. Couldn't stop myself. What a great book! I look forward to discussing it with everyone.
The publisher of The Impossible Knife of Memory is doing a giveaway for a chance to win 1 of 20 paperback copies of the book! It starts tomorrow(6/30): http://bit.ly/1dbVXLp
I read this book a week ago and ever since I have been trying to gather my thoughts to write a short review, but I can't seem to get beyond a few sentences. Hayley's life is hard and the same goes for everyone in the book. There seems to be no let up on the pain everyone has. Then, magically, all is solved and they are off to college.
Kathleen, I agree... I was thinking the same thing, I was glad that the ending was positive but I really thought this would be a great chance for Anderson to have a realistic ending
Begs the question, do we want exploration and escapism that doesn't leave us too depressed by the end, or do we want something more realistic that we can continue to grapple with?
I just added a new topic for people to submit a question (or questions) for the author, so would love to see what everyone here might want to ask--love the conversation!
