Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) A Hawkgirl TV series is reportedly in development at The CW.

Hawkgirl is set to debut in the upcoming CW series, Legends of Tomorrow, but SpoilerTV is reporting that CW is developing a standalone series starring Ciara Renee. It is unclear whether the series will take place before or after the events of Legends of Tomorrow.

According to the report, the project is in the very early stages of development but if CW decides to move forward with it, it will most like bypass a pilot stage and be ordered straight to series.

Jeff | 425 comments actually right after that was posted erin, The CW contacted comicbook.com and told them it was indeed a rumor and that it was not happening. though im sure it was just a smoke screen so that they needed to keep it secret.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Ugh, unreliable news? Thought we might have a new show to get excited about.

With the success of CW superhero shows, I'm thinking they have some ideas in the works to try out.

Jeff | 425 comments well they have some things in the works but keeping a tight lid on it. I think they want to do the hawk girl series but will wait to see how the character is received in Legends of Tomorrow. Im sure you saw that trailer for it. But im willing to bet they have a few more ideas in the works.

Travis (travishiltz) | 487 comments DC is building an interesting universe in the TV shows.

Would love to see them get enough characters that they could do some kind of Justice League.

Jeff | 425 comments I have a feeling that their legends of tomorrow which is going to be their "justice League" in a sense. But after seeing how this mid season show goes will dictate a revolving roster for another season. which could involve almost any dc character that isn't being used in a DC movie.

Travis (travishiltz) | 487 comments Shame as the Hawk-based TV series turned out to be a rumor, as she ( and Carter) are really good on 'Legends of tomorrow' and the version they are using would be interesting on their own.
Kind of 'Highlander meets Raiders of the lost arc' with super heroes and romance.

Jeff | 425 comments I think if they followed the way the Hawks were portrayed the way they were in the original 60's comics following super powered criminals from both earth and space using ancient earth weapons of the past to battle the villains, it would work really well. Granted the 60's comics were maybe in a way hokey, well not for me of course, but Gardner Fox, who was the writer for several super hero books then like the Flash as well as Hawkman and the Atom and others was a pretty good writer and really did try to use real science as much as he could to write credible stories. I think it would work using his template.

If you've never read their original stories in Brave and the Bold and their own title Hawkman, you should go for it I always loved them.

Travis (travishiltz) | 487 comments While I do like the 'space cop' JLA version of the Hawks,( Shadow War was a great series and they had a good run in World's Finest when it was an anthology) I think the reincarnated couple has more potential, especially for a TV show.

Jeff | 425 comments its true they do have more potential I was thinking more along the lines of instituting some of those earlier ideas.
