Anna Interesting list Ayanna. What a strange name for a book The Twelve-Fingered Boy.

Yeah, it wasn't my favourite book, but I honestly don't remember a lot of books that month. :o

message 6: by Anna (new)

Anna Yeah, that is why I've started my list from June. I haven't read many good books this year. I've gave up on like 3!

Yeah, me too! I know the saying is, "Don't judge a book by it's cover," but I'm doing that a lot lately. o;

I always do it. I'm so bad at it. First thing I do when someone recommends a book to me is look at the cover, then think ah no, It's not for me!

Favorite book of 2015 - My favorite book so far is Unwind.

I have been reading but I never finish them because someone will suggest another book and I'll start reading that one..
I'm hoping to read the whole Unwind series.

message 10: by Anna (new)

Anna Oh the Unwind series sounds really interesting. I must check it out!

I find it hard to get into a book and end up giving up and starting a new one. I'm really bad for that.

message 11: by ☆dani rae☆ (new)

☆dani rae☆ (danthaman) | 9 comments It's so good! When I read it, I realized that it is pretty violent and freaky but it was a good freaky.
It's very exciting.

message 12: by Anna (new)

Anna Oh I love those books! The last one I read like that was Sorry & Hide and Seek. If you like violent and freaky books check them out.

message 13: by Annerlee (last edited Jan 03, 2016 12:54PM) (new)

Annerlee Annerlee's list

January - Horrorstör
February - The Martian
March - The Night Circus
April - Station Eleven
May - The Museum of Extraordinary Things
June - The Godfather
July - We, the Drowned
August - Elizabeth Is Missing
September -The Alchemist
October -The Strange Library
November -A Thousand Splendid Suns
December - Ready Player One

Favourite book of 2015: The Martian

A hard choice... but this book was so unexpectedly excellent, humourous and even educational. I really identified with the main character, so much that I felt guilty eating dinner whilst Mark was 'surviving on half a frozen potato '. '

The film was excellent, but the book still beat oit hands down

message 14: by Anna (new)

Anna What is The Museum of Extraordinary Things like. I have been considering reading it, but can never make up my mind.

message 15: by Annerlee (new)

Annerlee Annabella wrote: "What is The Museum of Extraordinary Things like. I have been considering reading it, but can never make up my mind."

It's a good solid story with freak show characters and some romance thrown in.

I liked how the book also conjured up New York in the early 1900s as seen through the eyes of ordinary people from various backgrounds. It gave an insight into how they lived and thought, how events affected them and their struggle for survival.

The book has dfinitely got me interested in the period

message 16: by Anna (new)

Anna I may have to give it a go then. I have been eying it up for some time.

message 17: by Terese (last edited Aug 16, 2015 09:05AM) (new)

Terese January - Medea and Other Plays
February - Løvekvinnen
I don't know if there's an English translation yet, I read the book and the script (because a movie is being made as we speak), and I would really recommend this one if ever there's an English version.
March - The Awakening an underrated classic!
April - The Well of Loneliness
May - The Perks of Being a Wallflower
June - The Fall Camus stole my heart with this one
July -
August - The Alchemist
September -
October -
November -
December -

This book sounds quite good Ayanna, but seems to have mixed reviews. Did you find it creepy?

message 20: by random name, It's hot! Nearly Fahrenheit 451. (new)

Not at all. It was everything except for scary which is weird cos' it was supposed to be a ghost story. I would understand why it had mixed reviews though because it was really sad. I cried on that book. :p

message 22: by Anna (new)

Anna Scary that we only have 5 months left!

For me either, I'm behind schedule by 4 books now. If I finish all my books this month though, I think I'll be ahead of my schedule by 4 books.

message 28: by Anna (new)

I've just read the Alchemist too. It was a real treasure - one to read again or recommend to a friend!
It was an unexpected find for me...

message 32: by Anna (new)

Anna I have heard some mixed reviews of The Alchemist. How did you find it. Obviously liked it enough for it to be a favourite.

I need to update my list.

Yes I am! I was going to put The Death Cure (because I just finished it) on my Favourite books of November, but I'm going to read Fahrenheit 451 for my AP title list thing so there could be a tie.

And I find most of my books from the library if that's what you're asking? I got inspiration to read it when I saw the trailer for the movie Maze Runner. It looked very interesting and if I'm going to see the movie of something, I always read the book first because I want to see if it's alike.

message 38: by Anna (new)

Anna Oh yes, reading the book first is a must!

Are the books better then you thought they would be? I might move them up my list.
