Kate Welsh (felicitydisco) | 19 comments Two of the books I get to read this weekend when I finally finish Walden (sigh) are sequels I'm very excited about, so for YOUR long weekend reading you should consider the first books in these series, if you haven't read them!

1. Life After Life by Kate Atkinson (sequel A God in Ruins out now) - I read this all at once one afternoon last summer, and it's perfect for that kind of binge. It's hard to describe in a way that doesn't sound hokey, BUT IT ISN'T. It's about a woman born in 1910 who repeatedly dies and is reborn and the way the various versions of her life affect history.

2. The Diviners by Libba Bray (sequel Lair of Dreams out soon) - The adventures of a girl in Roaring 20s New York... with a bunch of murder and mystery and supernatural elements. Fun, gripping, atmospheric, sometimes scary!

Sarah (sarahhatter) I just finished Robert Kurson's Pirate Hunters: Treasure, Obsession, and the Search for a Legendary Pirate Ship. It's non-fiction, and follows some divers who want to find pirate Joseph Bannister's ship The Golden Fleece, which sank in the waters off The Dominican Republic in the 1680s. Lots of fun!

I found a copy of Life After Life at my local library this afternoon, so I'm really excited to add that to my reading list.

I finally finished this book after finding a second hand copy at Uni the same day I was about to go buy a new copy so yay!

I loved it so much, and it is definitely a difficult book to try and describe to someone, but I've been recommending it to everyone I know.
