Kati (katikatnik) | 11 comments Can you help me find more military sci-fi series centered around brilliant tacticians leading their soldiers and having their absolute trust, so much so that they would die for them? Something along the lines of Campbell's "Lost Fleet" series or Shepherd's "Kris Longknife" series?

The author died but he gave others the right to continue the series. Great Kings' War is the first in that series, and there is a third Kalvan Kingmaker which I have not read. I see both of the authors of Great Kings' War have lots of military SF to their names.
In a more futuristic line, try Trading in Danger and the follow up books in the Kylara Vatta series.

The other half of the book deals with political intrigue and a long-laid assassination plot. I prefer the war.
The Honor Harrington series, also by Weber, features a heroine who leads by inspiration and example as much as clever tactics.
