What did you think of it? Favorite or least favorite characters? Favorite or least favorite part?

Rachel (themindofabooknerd) I've already read this book, so that's easy enough for me. Haha. I really liked the idea behind this book, but I didn't like reading from Eadlyn's Poin-of-view. I much preferred to read from America's point of view, but I did really like all of the guy characters. I had a hard time deciding who I wanted Eadlyn to pick. BEWARE: The ending will be a major emotional train wreck for those of you who love this series. Haha at least it was for me. :)

Daphne | 21 comments I wasn't a fan of this one. Not many of the boys interested me and Eadlyn was a very frustrating main character to read about. I also felt like the ending was kind of just a cheap way to make sure readers return for the last book just to find out what happens after.

Anna (anna_pbanana) | 3 comments I really liked The Selection and I was excited when this one came out. I agree that I was more entertained with America's point of view, but I also read them over a year ago. I think that the content was the same as in interest level and I really liked it, but it felt a little young to me. Still love the series though! I finished The Heir in less than 24 hours. I was highly disappointed when I realized that the story wasn't finished and I had to wait again for the next book.

Christina (batgirl39) | 20 comments I just read this book and liked it a lot more than the previous books in The Selection series. I was never a huge fan of America and found her too willing to just let things happen to her instead of acting. I really liked Eadlyn - she knows that she wants to rule and live her life for a bit before settling down.

Courtney I wanted to strangle Eadlyn throughout the entire book...

Katrina♡•• | 228 comments I think Eadlyn was a bit frustrating and funny at times. However I am excited for the last book because I have no idea who she will chose( maybe Kile).

Same. Hopefully her character will change and grow a whole, whole lot.

Lindsay Holmes (lindsaymariehd) I don't think it was as good as the Selction, but i did enjoy it. To me, Eadlyn was awful and irritating, but she did grow and was still easier to read than from America's point of view. I was kind of disappointed that we have to wait for ANOTHER book to find out who Eadlyn picks, i think it could've been all wrapped up in this book. Does anyone know if this is gonna be another "trilogy" or is there only one more book?

☪❂ Kaiah❂☪ (kaiahceleste) This one was okay.. It didn't keep my interest very well until the end. I also might not have enjoyed this one as much as the others because my reading level matured, as I found this very simple to read. I didn't enjoy Eadlyn's POV much, but I will read the next one, because I did see Eadlyn change a bit towards the end, and it has potential for a very interesting read.

Jessica (Goldenfurpro) (goldenfurproductions) | 3160 comments I liked this one, though not as much as The Selection series. It mostly just introduced us to the new characters, leading into the next book. FYI, THE ENDING SUCKS!

Raelene (popcanjelly) SPOILERS FOR ALL 4 BOOKS WARNING EVEN THOUGH IF YOU ARE READING THIS BOOK YOU PROBABLY SHOULD OF READ ALL PG THEM ANYWAYWARNING SPOILERS

I read this book four days After it was released. I personally enjoyed Americas p.o.v more but I also enjoyed the unknowingness of this book. In the first three I found it quite obvious that America and Maxon would end up together, obviously. That was fine for the first three but that's what I liked about this one, it was the fact that you didn't know who she was gonna pick because she was doing the choosing. In Americas it was obviously gonna be her otherwise there'd be no point in having her point of view. I also quite enjoyed the little romance between her and Kyle. I thought it was adorable

Raelene (popcanjelly) Sorry accidentally posted before I was finished. So that was cute. As I said before I read the book 4 days after its release. I'll admit I didn't even know there was a 4th one coming out until the lady in chapters said that it was a bogo thing. Anyway I bought the book and finished it in a day, and when I googled for the next book I realized that the book only came out 4 days prior to my reading and that there was really no word at all on the next book so i was quite distressed. Anyway enough about me waiting for the next one. I recommend it if you've read the first three and if not read them. They are quite an easy read not a whole lot of plot twists but that's what I liked. I like to just have a smooth read for once.

Maddy Lanslots (maddylanslots) I agree with what most people here already said. It was good, but not as good as the original trilogy; Eadlyn was a pretty annoying main character, but she did grow and I have hopes for her; I liked most of the boys (and the fact that I did not yet go, "Oh, of course she's going to choose that one); and I liked reading it from the Selector's point of view, instead of the Selected's.

I was pretty annoyed with the ending, but that was mostly because I was not expecting it, since I didn't know there would be a fifth book, haha. It's a nice and easy read.

Lauren I ADORE THIS BOOK! I over all really liked Eadlyn because realistically if you were a princess, you would act a bit bratty. She was so strong and smart which I liked!
Henri and Kile are my favorites. I hope she's with one of them!

Faye :) (gxspark) | 4 comments I LOVE the selection series from the very start and Im so happy this didnt disappoint me. I love Eadlyn! She doesnt try to be liked by everyone, she is being herself. She is strong and smart! While for the suitors, its really hard to tell who will win because unlike in The Selection, its America's point of view so its obvious that she will win. Unlike here, Eadlyn is the one to choose. I hope its Kile! <3

Kim Anderson (kimmatski) I'm wondering if there's any significance to the fact that the series will be wrapped up in only 1 more book. America and Maxon's selection took 3 books. I feel like there are still a lot of guys left for everything to be wrapped up all nice and clean in one book. Does that mean something is going to happen? Like maybe she picks Erik and calls the whole thing off? Ha ha.

Andrea I love that we get a peek at Max's and America's life after they have been married for 20 years. I have wanted that opportunity for sooo many books. I also agree with everyone, it wasn't as entertaining as the Selection series, but it was still good and not nearly as frustrating. I wanted to throw my book several times while reading the Selection series. And I'm grateful for The Heir.

Eadlyn annoyed me at first, but she grew on me. She is the perfect combination of America and Maxon...brains, beauty, tenacious, feisty, impeccable manners, and diplomatic.

I loved meeting the guys, their dates, catching up with characters from the selection and their kids, learning about the changes Max and America made and what happened after they married and getting to know their children...yeah!

I have my favorite for Eadlyn and I can't wait to watch her fall in love.

Katrina♡•• | 228 comments Who is your favorite for Eadlyn?

Andrea Kisses A wrote: "Who is your favorite for America?"

Kile Woodwork is my favorite! He's intelligent, down to earth and handsome, he is the son of America's best friend Marlee and they grew up in the castle together. I also think America placed his name in the drawing...or possibly America and Marlee conspired together. I would love that!

I also like Kile!

Katrina♡•• | 228 comments I wish if Eadlyn could understand Henri;(

Katrina♡•• | 228 comments Yeah I know! Ad he is so sweet and can cook well...

message 24: by Kim (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kim Anderson (kimmatski) I'm rooting for Kile, also. But rooting for Erik in a super secret way, too, because I think it would make the book really interesting to see how she would be able to pick someone outside of the Selection.

Maddy Lanslots (maddylanslots) I agree - Erik, Kile, and Henri are all great... we'll just have to wait and see!

message 26: by Kim (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kim Anderson (kimmatski) Agreed, Louise. Eadlyn is the worst. I hate her more than I've hated any other main character in a book. But, when you think about it, kudos to Kiera Cass for making a character like that! But really, she can't get much worse, so a huge character metamorphosis is hopefully inevitable.

ReadersReligion | 32 comments I enjoyed this book. Eadyaln was annoying but over time she slowly got better. She started working with people and grew in character.
Henri was adorkable, and my heart hurts for the whole royal family.
I hated Kile and I don't know why. Maybe because he's just no Henri.

Kristie (krussum) | 13 comments She did not need to drag out the series for longer than a book, but I guess you gotta make that money. That being said, I'm Team Erik all the way.

Crystal I just finished it and all I can do is creyyy right now because my original otp...maybe when im not creying anymore over the book I can say more but for now all I can say is Im conflicted with Erik and Kile and Henri is really sweet too but idk..it can never work with having to learn english and taking a very long time..anyway thats it

bhavi (bhavireadsalittle) | 10 comments ** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **** spoiler alert **

The ending was so devastating! I can't believe I cared so much about America to have cried at 1 am in the morning! Maxon too! It was a horrible condition! I do not regret saying this but Ahren is a foul loathsome evil little cockroach and the biggest jerk. I hope Camille dumps him for his own sake more than anything else! Now I hate the french! First, Daphne was hitting on Maxon and now her offspring troubling Fans again? Americas about to die! Though it was sweet for the selected to come and pray for her at the end... America cared so much for her children. It was true... She loved all of the boys and girls( don't forget that she was ready to become a surrogate for Lucy!) more than they would ever know.... But overall I loved all the group dates and also I loved Erik! He was such an important character! Last thing that I will say: There always is a Woodwork involved with awesomeness! #LoveKileWoodwork
I am sooooooo rooting for him! Roller coaster of emotions this book! I need to at least know the title of the fifth book!

Vero | 13 comments *SPOILERS*

I finished the book a while ago and I am glad that Ahren, who is so close to her, finally told her what was on everyone's mind. But I wish he didn't leave with Camille like that. Also, I am not sure which of the boys is endgame here... I mean I loved Henri, but Hale was cute and Kile definitely has a special place in her heart. Who do you think will win?

I recon that something will happen with Erik, I love him loads.
I didn't like Ahren, or any of the main characters

Crystal im conflicted like Erik is a total sweetheart but Kile...ahh I just want them together please..

I think Cass did a great job making several of the guys likeable. Kile is my fav and I think he will win, because he's the son of America's best friend...Marlee's son and he's everything that makes a guy great, but I want to learn more about Henri. I think he has a story. Is he for real or is it an act? I feel like he has an agenda. I also like Erik too. He could win because he is not part of the Selection, which could make for an interesting twist.

Nicole (nics2) | 44 comments I didn't like the book at all... Eadlyn was too like oh I'm too powerful and no one understand how hard is to be and now I'm going to say some stupid things to neena ( it's her maid name right ?) and then not realise how stupid it was !

Gosh she was soooo annoying, I was almost going to get into the book to say some truths to her and at least ahren did so !

About America and maxon they were soo different ! America turned to be some perfect queen which I didn't like at all, she was kind of remembering me of queen Amberly ( the only reason that I didn't hate this change at all)

But anyway my fav is Kyle though Henri is cute, but idk I don't think they will end up together, and hale seems to be just a friend ...

The only reason that I finished the book was because of Kiera cass writing ( which is amazing ) and the fact that eadlyn at least has grown up a little during the book though she still annoys me.

Danielle When I found out this book was coming out I was sooo excited because I learned that it would be told from the POV of the child of a ship of mine. Thankfully the hype did not ruin the book for me and I ended up loving it almost as much as I love the Selection series. I loved Eadlyn and her brother ans cannot wait to find out who our princess marries. However, the ending to this book was very unexpected (and not in a good way) to me.

Cindereckless | 8 comments Is that ending really a cliffhanger? Honestly I don't really care if (view spoiler) dies.

message 39: by Bethan (new)

Bethan | 1 comments I loved this whole series, to be honest though the ending annoyed me, it was a really good book and did not disappoint, yet I was expecting it to keep to one book although I am also kinda glad it didn't because it then lasts longer even though we have to wait ages for the next one.

message 41: by Veda (new) - rated it 3 stars

Veda (vedareads) | 21 comments Kind-of a disappointment compared to the original Selection Series, but an overall great book. The character development was astounding (in a good way). I loved seeing the whole Selection take place in the eyes of the person who's holding it instead of the person who's attending it, if that makes sense. Eadlyn annoyed me endlessly at first, but she got better as the book progressed (kind of like I was with America in the original Selection series).

Imani (emanimalik) | 2 comments I didn't like The Heir as well as Books 1-3. Eadlyn was not as warm and personable as her mother. Her distance from others and the character of the boys in the Selection is disappointing. I am hoping that as she warms to the idea of the true purpose of the Selection process, she will become more likable. I am personally rooting for Erik. I know he isn't part of the process, but he would be the best choice by far.

message 43: by Kat (last edited Jul 28, 2015 05:12AM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kat | 334 comments I finished reading this a couple of days ago and I actually thought it was better than the previous books. I liked America over Eadlyn but I liked the guy characters more in The Heir. I didn't think the ending was bad. I think she likes and may go with either Kile or Henri, or maybe Erik. There's just something not there though with each of them. Idk. I think the most frustrating thing about this book was that I didn't connect emotionally with any of the guys. I think they were interesting to read about but when it had to do with them and Eadlyn, I did care but yet I didn't care who she will go with in the end. That saying, I will read the next book, whenever it is coming out. It was just that, when I think about it I don't really mind who Eadlyn ends up with and that really irks me because I want to fill pulled towards one choice (one guy) but I couldn't and I really want to root for one of them but I can't which left me a bit disconcerted.

Oh, and I think this cover's the prettiest one yet!

Sankar Sravz (sravancullen) | 1 comments America singer's version is far more better than eadlyn's. This book is not even half entertaining as the first three ones. One of the main drawback is showing eadlyn as some kind of villian....
