What is the Shetlands like? I wonder what your accent is like. I'm originally from Nottingham, but relocated to Yorkshire 3 years ago.

Hayley Stewart (haybop) | 44 comments S. East England here :D

message 7: by Anna (new)

Anna Yay another Brit!

Nice to see people in the same time zone =D. We have a good mix of people from around the world here.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm in England too, up in the north west

message 9: by Anna (new)

Anna That's lovely. I don't really travel up that way much.

message 10: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Johnstone (livinginsidefiction) | 21 comments I live in England

message 11: by Terese (new)

Terese I'm in Sweden :)

message 12: by Anna (new)

Anna I think we have more English people then any others now.

Sweden! What is the weather like over there at this time of the year?

message 13: by Terese (new)

Terese Well, this summer has been a bit of a dud. It's been mild and rainy for the most part, I miss last year when it was scorching hot and one could hang at the beach with a good book :)

message 14: by Anna (new)

Anna We haven't had a good summer either. Rainy and just down right miserable.

Hayley Stewart (haybop) | 44 comments Annabella wrote: "We haven't had a good summer either. Rainy and just down right miserable."

Annabella you should've been down here in the South East!! I've never been so tanned before - considering how little I was actually outdoors it's astounding and there was so little rain apart from the thunderstorm a week or so ago (after it caused damage up north)

Kent is NEVER going to get away without a hosepipe ban this year :/

message 16: by Anna (new)

Anna Are you kidding me! I cannot believe you have had this weather. It is like a different world up here. Wished I still lived in the Midlands..... I feel a tantrum brewing.

I live in Kent, we join Cornwall & Devon when it comes to getting the best of the summer ;D (usually), What about the heatwave 2 weeks ago, did you not get that?? Criminy it was boiling!! Right before the massive storm. Ugh I'm glad it's now cooled down enough for me to be comfortable sitting around in jeans :/

message 18: by Terese (new)

Terese Yeah, it's pretty disappointing. We get enough grey skies and rain in the fall. Though it is of course cosy to snuggle up with a good book and some tea!

message 19: by Anna (new)

Anna Yes we got the heatwave, but I couldn't enjoy it because I was at work all week. The weather was rubbish at the weekend and went down hill from there.

I love it when it is raining and I am inside. It is so cozy.

There probably are, I thought Poland was in it but I just looked it up on Google. Those were the only ones I found.

message 29: by Anna (new)

Anna I am sure Canada did. Strange...... Maybe they are the main ones that participate all the time.

Okay, I actually found a list.

http://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/countries/

So ignore my other comment cos' I don't think I can put all the countries. o;

message 31: by Anna (new)

Anna I also found this:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2...

I think the list you created was for the first official reports of the game.

Must be, cos' that only showed 11 out of 204. :p

message 33: by Anna (new)

Anna Hehe yes. Lets hope we get more to cross off.

message 34: by Deniz (new)

Deniz | 9 comments well i'm new here, and i'm from Turkey ^^

message 35: by Anna (new)

Anna Yes! Another country off our list! Welcome to the group.

My friend just came back from Turkey and would love to go back.

message 36: by Deniz (new)

Deniz | 9 comments Oh thanks for welcoming! Yeah Turkey is a very nice place for summer :)

message 37: by Anna (new)

Anna I don't really know what summer is. I am from the UK and it always rains *sigh*

message 38: by Deniz (new)

Deniz | 9 comments Haha then you can visit Turkey, we're like burning here on these months!

message 39: by Anna (new)

Anna You sun thieves! I don't actually know how I would cope with that sort of weather.

message 40: by Deniz (new)

Deniz | 9 comments Ahah, yeah even though it's so nice to feel some sunshine on your skin it gets so hot for me too...
I'd like to visit England , i like rainy weather though

message 41: by Terese (new)

Terese Hi there! I've never been to Turkey myself but I have a friend who goes for a month every summer and just loves it :) Welcome and also, have all the rain you want (I'm in Sweden so there's plenty to take from here as well ;) )

message 42: by Deniz (new)

Deniz | 9 comments hahah sweden! I've heard so many nice things about Sweden actually. Thnaks for the rain :D and i tink i'd love all the snow you have there too!

message 43: by Anna (new)

Anna Thinking about it, I do prefer stormy weather. When I go on holiday it is like an actual holiday with sun!

I just love sitting inside and watching the rain and lightning. Don't forget the thunder though!

message 44: by Deniz (new)

Deniz | 9 comments Yeah it's so nice being inside, watching, listening the rain but mostly when it rains here it doesn't rain much and makes me feel kinda dissapointed you know :D

message 45: by Terese (new)

Terese I have a demanding dog so I have to be outside a lot. Really I do love ALL weather for that (like snow!). So it's quite nice with a mild rainy summer (cause otherwise it's to hot for dog to dog ;) ) but it's a bit... boring... shall we say, to always be out in grey weather. So I'll gladly borrow just a few days of scorching heat to break up the montony :)

message 46: by Hayley (new)

Hayley Stewart (haybop) | 44 comments I much prefer cooler weather - trying to do kickboxing or running in the heat we had at the beginning of this month was just too much for me :S I had to stop the runs as I would've needed a backpack full of water bottles just to keep on this side of dehydration!

message 47: by Mona (new)

Mona (monna8) I live in Utah

message 48: by Annerlee (new)

Annerlee Monica wrote: "I live in Utah"

message 49: by Mona (new)

Mona (monna8) it is its humid and when is hot its just dry and you don't even want to be outside

message 50: by Anna (new)

Anna Is it like that all the time?
