The Golden Lily discussion

Ok so i have recently read The Golden Lily and i have realized something interesting about Eddie and Angeline's romantic relationship.

They shouldn't be having a relationship. It's FORBIDDEN!!!! And i will tell you why. Ok so remember in the first Vampire Academy book in the very end where Dimitri tells Rose that they can't be together? Well he said that the reason they couldn't be together was because he and Rose will be Lissa's guardians and if they had a relationship, they would be more worried about each other rather than the moroi they are supposed to be guarding and therefore endanger her.
The relationship with Eddie and Angeline is the SAME thing. They are both guarding Jill who is the last Dragimor Princess and they have to work together to do it. Their relationship would endanger Jill because they would be too worried about each other. IT'S THE SAME THING!!! I know that angeline isn't really a real guardian but but that shouldn't matter. She and Eddie are both still have to protect the same moroi and have to be 100% dedicated to Jill and not have any distractions. I would have expected someone to tell all this to Angeline when she kept showing her interests in Eddie, but no-one did.
Why make one relationship Forbidden when another isn't? Did Mrs Mead forget about this when she wrote The Golden Lily? Or did did she just chose to ignore it to make the book more dramatic?

I see what you are saying but it really isn't the same thing. The situation is the same but the feelings are different. Rose and Dimitri were crazy in love, while I'm sure that Eddie and Angeline like each other, they aren't in love. So they would still protect Jill. This is my opinion at least.

yeah but they may not have those kind of feelings now but if they let them develop then they would become stronger.

Very true. Since Eddie is referred to (behind his back) as mini-Dimitri, I like to think he would do the right thing in the end. Although, I am still rooting for Eddie to end up with Jill.

I think the fact that Rose was a student and Dimitri was her instructor, plus their age difference, plus they were guardians together added up made it "forbidden."

I don't think that Eddie and Angeline were really that serious, just that they were going out. Plus they couldn't act like that at school because everyone thought they were related. Therefore, all of their attenion during school was spent watching Jill. It wasn't like they were going off together by themseleves and leaving Jill alone.

I'm against Angeline and Eddie dating, but not for the reason you mentioned. Most of the VA characters have it drilled into their heads that certain lifestyles are "forbidden". Just because society tells them something is wrong does not mean they need to adhere to rules other people are trying to set for them.

One of the biggest points the author has made in all the VA books is that you shouldn't be afraid to stand up for yourself and fight for what you want. Mead hasn't forgotten anything. She's just continuing with the same theme VA has always had about fighting for the right to make your own choices.

Eddie and Angeline are not the same as Rose and Dimitri because Eddie is not in love with angelin and he still likes Jill.

omg, i'm SOOOOOOOO glad about what happened at the end of The Indigo Spell. even though i feel really bad about eddie. I F**king can't believe that angeline did that, like 'WTF'

The real reason Dimirti and Rose couldn't be together was because he was a teacher and she was a student. Anyone else hear me? And Eddie can be together with Angeline (As much as I don't like it) because they are under cover and Rose and Dimitri...weren't

well im glad that angeline and trey r gonna be together, so that eddie ca focus on Jill and they can be together

YES! now that angeline and trey have a thing, eddie and jill can start to build a relationship with each other. especially now that eddie knows that jill has feelings for him. *Squeal* I just cant wait to see whats going to happen between them in feiry heart

Yes i cant wait i just hope that Zoe dosent meess things up for any of the couples
